1. I love Dabo's "stubborness" (i.e. not caving in to Tnet geniuses or the latest NIL and portal hype). It was that stubborness and belief in himself and how to build a program that got us to where we are as, at worst, the second best program over the last 10 years. I'll put my money on him any day.
2. I think Cade has a bright future and oozes talent, leadership, and enthusiasm. But if they're honest, even the most ardent Cade supporter and DJ hater has to acknowledge there were many instances last night where he showed he was not quite ready for prime time yet. Now the argument has shifted to "if only Dabo would have pleyed him earlier these mistakes wouldn't have happened last night." But why would we risk these mistakes in games that mattered just to get a guy more ready for a meaningless bowl game. And it's not like Dabo didn't pull DJ twice before this game to give Cade a shot. But the future at QB is in good hands with Cade and Vizzina.
3. Streeter did not put together a good game plan for a freshman QB starting his first game. I don't understand why in last night's game and the South Carolina game, he continues to insist on ignoring the running game when it's one of our strengths this year. If we focus on the run last night, you give Tenn less opportunities to score by chewing more clock, and you put your rookie QB in 3rd and less than 5 where it's easier to get first downs than 3rd and long when TN knows we have to pass.
4. When your worst seasons in a decade have 3 losses, your program is still in good shape.
5. In Dabo's shoes, I would do whatever it would take to bring Jeff Scott home. At minimum, it would likely take an Asst HC/OC position to get him. But he is a terrific recruiter, and would be a net gain for us even if we have to lose another coach along the way.
