Wash St HS Coach Joe Kennedy quits 1 game in

2

from winning Supreme Court lawsuit vs school for going against his freedom to pray after games with agreeable team members.

He cited continued discrimination, harassment & better things to do (in Florida & take care of a sick relative).

Article didn’t say if he won that game~

not mean someone is perfect.

I understand atheists, but this person who posted this meme obviously knows they are missing out on something and are in denial.

Calling yourself a Christian doesn't mean you actually follow Jesus. I've met plenty of non-religious people who live their lives more in accordance with what Jesus preached than many supposed Christians. People pick and choose which parts of the Bible they want to follow, and which parts they want to ignore. Some people like to use religion to justify their bigotry. That might be especially true in the South, where the most popular denomination is still the one that was created because Southerners didn't want to go to church and be told that slavery was wrong. Few things make atheism look more appealing than American-style Christianity.

There are no ramifications.

I kinda like their penchant for empirical evidence and rational thinking.

Atheism provide zero grounding for rational thought

1

Sep 9, 2023, 1:24 PM

Atheists can and often do engage in rational thinking, but the reason they can do so and it is even possible is because their underlying philosophical atheism is false.

If atheism were true, everything would be derivative of random collisions of molecules in motion without purpose or meaning. All life would be based on an evolutionary process which would favor survival, not truth. As such, one would not be justified in believing any of the thoughts and reasoning of a human mind which results from such a process - including arguments for atheism

Anyone who really cares to understand this should read Alvin Plantinga's Evolutionary Argument Against Naturalism.

I'm not trying to be funny here but it is a lot easier to believe there is no God and pretty much be able to set your own course and follow your own direction. As a Christian, I do believe in Matthew 7:13-14:

"Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is EASY that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is HARD that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

Not preachin', just sayin' because the beautiful thing about free will and free choice is that we all get to decide for ourselves.

you have mentioned before about your disdain for religion. It’s all good man, you go with your plan and others will go with theirs. Matter fact, you message me if ever a Southern Baptist comes to your door with a gun and demands you go to church, heck I’ll come over and we’ll empty some rounds until they get off your property. Currently, there are several crap hole 3rd world countries full of spear chunkers committing genocide on believers, so if there is any side that has an argument for being targeted, it’s believers vs atheist/ Muslims.

My guess is your just looking for attention, maybe an award for being against Christianity, most likely just attention

If you are a Christian then you believe the Bible hence the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What you have just stated is the complete opposite.
Jesus is the pillar of Biblical Christianity. But yes people can call them selves anything they want to, and most have no idea what the Bible says. They parrot what their friends tell them and berate true followers with quotes like “holier than thou”. I’m not being contrary but it is a pretty big deal to myself.

Well that's nice, and I am glad that there are people like that, but that is not what Christianity is about. Hopefully, being nice a doing what Jesus would want us to do is a result of being a Christian, but that is not what makes us a Christian. Yes, we are flawed, and it shows up way too much, but we are forgiven if we ask for it.

off this post.

You're generally not invested in the details of the material, what "education" you do have is under most circumstances provided by someone neither positive to the material nor truly "educated" themselves either, and your perspective on the out side looking-in is most often no better than a white person telling someone how to be "black".

We get it, you're not sold. I'm personally sorry to hear that, but really, I am happy to simply pass like ships in the night. If I bring up the term "Jesus" or "Christian" or "religious", I'm really only trying to speak to those who want to hear. Thank you.

the Atheists and Agnostics get to burn less than the others?

Just joking... thanks for the get, but it's pretty much in line with what I was saying anyway.

The survey doesn't say that these particular non-religious are more informed on average than committed religious. It says they are more knowledgeable that the uncommitted.

I find that interesting, but hardly surprising. Anyone who can't say why they like a particular religion/sect simply isn't very committed.
