I don't think anybody who can look at this logically could see otherwise. The ACC looks finished... Clemson needs to be the aggressor....

We've had huge football success over the last ~10 years, but we don't have any other characteristics of a huge brand. Small regional school, small alumni base, no huge money boosters, litte football success outside of two great runs by two great coaches... The other 100 years of Clemson football is utterly unremarkable.
10 years ago we were essentially NC State, no? Obviously we are in a much, much better situation right now due to Dabos success over the previous decade, but I don't know if we have proven staying power yet.

I think this can only be said from a recent perspective. Maybe I'm wrong but we were often a top 25 team before, our baseball and soccer teams have also been quite good. Granted, we can't seem to have a solid basketball program but outside of this Clemson has a history many schools might envy.

once a way out of the GOR is clear, other conferences will be the first to know...not the public. The B1G would take FSU/Clem tomorrow if the GOR was cleared up.
I have no doubt those conversations take place between the various "camps".

You make a great point.
Unfortunately, all of this is about money. How much it costs to leave the ACC is why we remain stuck.

I agree wholeheartedly. At this point the CFB landscape moving forward is crystal clear and we need to move on. Dangle the Clemson/FSU carrot in from the Big Ten officials to hopefully sweeten the offer from the SEC to come join them.
