New playoff format could be bad for Clemson

If we stay in the ACC or move to the Big 12. South Carolina will get around $9million more annually from the playoffs without even making an appearance. That just seems wrong. I'd we don't land in the SEC or Big Ten, we could fall far behind. Thanks GoR!

Just what I read on tiger illustrated. Everyone in the SEC gets around $21 million weather they are in or out of the playoffs. Vandy will get $21 mil. Rutgers will get $21 mil. Clemson and Florida State will get around $12 mil. That's just from the playoffs (14 team) and not counting what they are already getting from ESPN/Fox.
I hope I read it wrong.

If what is currently being proposed becomes reality then we should only push to leave the ACC if we can land a spot in the SEC or B1G. Financially speaking, nothing else really makes sense.

We aren’t going to the B12 where you get that from.
We will be out of the ACC by 2026. Take that to the bank. The only question is do we end up in the SEC or B1G.

If the SEC really wanted Clemson, they could have taken them in 2011 instead of Missouri. No GoR then and the buy-out was reasonable. The SEC sees no value in Clemson market wise since they already have the Coots.
The Big Ten maybe if they relax that AAU garbage. But most Big Ten fans I chat with would rather have North Carolina than Clemson.

They will be making around $30 mil.more from TV and another $9 mil more from the playoffs...that's $39 million more annually. Plus they will be playing in a Big time College Football conference while Clemson plays in a second tier college conference, unless we can get into the Big Ten or SEC.
