Planning for the FB season and what beer to drink during the

games. Bud Light and other Anh-Busch products are out. I am leaning towards Coors Light to support a Colorado company, but I am open to suggestions. I'm not into IPAs, but enjoy less "hoppy" brands. Used to drink San Miguel when in the Far East and also Singha from Thailand.

I usually only have a beer each half as being in the Mountain time zone noon kick offs are at 10 am out here and I am trying to cut a few calories here and there. With an unusually close game I may have a third one, so in an ideal season a 30 pack would get me through the whole year. If a night game I switch to bourbon is if is really close.

Money isn't an issue, but I am very frugal so if the taste is close I'll go cheap. Thanks for any inputs

For a very mild IPA, you might try Magic Hat's #9. Some people call it the "gateway" to more hoppy IPAs. lol

Used to drink that all the time, non of the Magic Hat beers seem to be available in the local grocery stores like in the past.

That being said, that is a #### fine beer!

Here's my suggestion - Jekyll Brewing's Big Creek ale

I typically drink Miller Lite. But when I want a good smooth light beer, regardless of price, I grab the Big Creek by Jekyll Brewing.

You may have trouble tracking it down depending on your location. It's made in Alpharetta, GA and it's a relatively small brewer.

I've drank Bud Light for many years; will continue to do so and make no apologies for it. I like what I like. AB has fired the buffoons involved with the trans debacle and I feel with certainty that road won't be traveled a second time.

Last I heard about a week ago they were still on a leave of absence. Not that I think they want them back, but trying to figure out how to avoid law suits.

OK, let’s understand a couple of concepts: The big three in America ( A-B, Miller and Coors ) are to beer what Chef-Boy-Ardee is to fine Italian cuisine. And light beer isn’t for people who actually like the taste of beer. It’s really for people who just like to pee a lot.

Years ago my oldest daughter went out to a sports bar with a guy she was dating and a few of his friends where he attempted to buy her a Bud Lite. She told him, “No thanks, I’ll have a beer.” Then she ordered a porter of some sort well because she was cultured on various styles of fine beers at an early age. Never in her life has there been a singular expectation of what “beer” is supposed to taste like.

She went a step further and insulted their Bud Lite calling it watered down grasshopper pee. She didn’t date that boy much longer…..

I told her that was a mistake. His palate and his beer culture were easily fixable but not to alienate him so much, the boy knew how to tear apart and rebuild engines. That’s a more valuable skill than she could ever imagine.

And they have a “light” and a “flight” for lower canaries that are solid for light beer, though not as good as full octane.

Otherwise Miller Light for light beer and agree on the Jeckyll Brewing.

My advice would be to stock up on Oktoberfest beers now so you have enough to last the season. I just tried this year’s version from Sierra Nevada and it’s pretty good. Sam Adams usually makes a good one too.

I love them once the weather starts to break in the fall. Problem is they are already in the stores and you won’t be able to find them after the middle of September.
