UGA may have the top vet school in the nation from what I understand. Did your daughter attend pre-vet at clemson? I have heard that clemson is number one feeder school to UGA Vet School.

No, she was on track scholarship at Samford - Clemson didn't offer any $$ for track.

Really? That's quite impressive. Samford's a good team. I spent a brief time on the cross country team at a different SoCon school, and I remember quite well that they were by far the most dominant track team in the conference. Their men and women have both won the outdoor championship the last 3 years in a row. Did she get recruited? And what did she run? Sorry, you don't have to answer any of this if it's too personal, I'm just a huge track nerd lol.

She can be a 2 school fan as long as she remembers her #1 loyalties are to the Tigers!!! Just understand that things don't always turn out the way that we wanted them, and as long as she will be helping animals, it don't matter where she leaned how to do that from!!!

We had a couple of extra years with our last sweet pup thanks to a UGA veterinary gastroenterologist. Congrats to your girl, they produce excellent vets down there.

100% proud. I went to med school at USC SOM despite multiple other offers and despite my USC (fake USC) reservations, mainly b/c I had amazing relationships with the people there and more importantly bc they had the Greenville program (prior to a full 4 year med school in greenville), which would allow me to be back in the upstate. Best decision of my life. That being said, I mounted my diploma in a frame from that frame shop in Clemson with an etched tiger paw on it , well , b/c I'm still a dang Tiger.

athens is a cesspool (lived there for 7 years) but good kids do good kids things and the environments don’t influence them
congratulations to her! she will make the most of it - comes from good stock
i actually enjoyed my time there…gotta kick out of wife and I driving up 129 with clemson flags - lone rangers going north with 100s of georgia fans going the other way…contributed the cesspoolness from time to time - especially pre marriage
pretty normal town when you get away from downtown
its really awesome if you want to fly somewhere - hartsfield jackson cheap and not far
my Clemson co op put me in Tuscaloosa for a semester

My daughter graduated from Clemson last year and is a first year vet student at UGA. It’s bitter sweet but UGA is a great school, one of the top veterinary programs in the nation. You should be #### proud.
My daughter says she will always be a Tiger first and she misses Clemson dearly, but she loves the vet school program and the faculty at UGA. Their new hospital is fantastic and on another level. I believe Clemson will be modeling a lot of UGA’s structure and program for their vet school.
Now, Athens is different. It ain’t Clemson. My daughter came home this past weekend and was upset over Laken Riley’s death. She said she never worried about safety while in Clemson. I believe the school, though, is taking this incident seriously and they will put pressure on the city of Athens to crack down and clean up some areas.
Again, feel proud. Your girl has made a great achievement. It ain’t easy.

Saying UGHEY is extremely juvenile in respects to her getting into. It’s not an easy school to get into by any means. Much harder than Clemson. Sports mainly football rivalries don’t matter in the real world, especially in the working world and they are a great academic institution and have heard they have an excellent vet program. Good luck to her!

many of us have family and/or close friends allied with other schools.
Two of my longtime, closest friends here on Lake Murray are UGA folks with the wife's Father having been a coach for many years with Vince Dooley, yet they were among the first to congratulate me when we won the 2016 and 2018 national titles. My immediate family includes grads of S.C., UNC, Auburn, the Citadel, Pitt, Penn State, TAMU, etc.
Georgia is a great school, and she'll enjoy herself. Best wishes.

My brother and his wife were both Gamecocks, and both his kids (one niece, on nephew) when to SCAR, too. I had to just let that go (my other brother also is a Coot, but no kids yet).
My wife's brother and his wife did not go to Clemson (Wesleyan, Queens), but are Clemson fans (MIL was on the faculty at Clemson for many years). My nephew on that side has gone his own way, skipping college and working as a mechanic.
But my niece on that side went to UGA (pretty much a financial decision, since they live in Georgia).
Of course, she was there in their current run and got all "doggy". I tell her every time I see her that she's dead to me, then hug her anyway.

My daughter, who is a Clemson grad, is getting her Masters at USC now so I understand. Clemson does not offer her major. She is firmly in the Tigers camp when it comes to rooting interest.
