Can the win be about the players for 5 minutes?
For our basketball history, Brad fits the mold: a little above mediocre, with a few good exceptions. He’s not terrible and he’s not great. He’s….fine. If we’re happy with that, let’s keep him and keep on truckin. Otherwise make the investment in someone who can be better than…fine.
Can we focus on the next game and pause the Brad discussion?

Unfortunately, many people here have such a problem with Brownell, and such an agenda to undermine him, that instead of celebrating the win it becomes about Brownell and some complaint about him.
As I’ve said many times, this is supposed to be fun.

Judge Keller, you need to look in the mirror. You are just as responsible for stirring up anger on this board. You attack Dabo in your little passive aggressive way, mainly because you are so jealous of his success. When basketball is over, you will go back to posting about how Dabo cuts his sideburns.

I enjoyed the win and will enjoy the win if it comes Sunday.
I don’t think anyone has an agenda with Brownell. Most believe he is a good man (me included) but runs an average program. Some want more than an average program and know that won’t happen with Brownell. It’s as simple as that. It’s been 14 years. We know it takes consistency to win conference and postseason tournaments and to this point Brownell has proven he cannot consistently win.

We’ve won 20+ games two years in a row.
We finished in the top third of the ACC two years in a row.
We have won 67% of our games over the last two years.
We have a top 25 recruiting class for 2024.

Honestly? Enjoy being the punch line to basketball jokes?! Brad isn’t the worst coach ever. He doesn’t belong at a power four school. UNCW was his wheelhouse. Occasional 16 seed and one and done in the tournament. He’s one win away from tying his greatest success ever. Brad is now 5-9 all time in NCAAT games. One and some all but three times now. He won one game twice and two games once. That’s NOT good! If this is your measure of success then your namesake was a terrible choice! Judge Keller was a pillar of Clemson and made many great contributions to the city and school. There was a RASH of twenty win teams this year as there are most years. Brownell isn’t a closer. He hasn’t won anything of note in 24 years of coaching. He is Tommy Bowden. Thank God our administration was smart enough to see that mediocrity isn’t a good thing or we’d have never won two more championships. We have the money and support to build a successful basketball program. People like you keep it stuck at middle of the ACC pack. We have to decide we’re done accepting mediocrity.
I’ll be pulling hard for Clemson in the tournament as I always do. Nothing can change the fact that CBB is better at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory than the reverse. Nothing can change that we peak in the early season and limp into oblivion ant the end of every year under him. He has done some good things but the bad outweighs what he’s done. Anything is possible but judging his career we’re going to fall short. It’s what he does. Wanting improvement and a better program is natural. Celebrating mediocrity is mind blowing. It’s like my investor loses money for me on a regular basis and singing his parishes because he’s a good guy. Making excuses for his mediocrity when making a change could yield and impressive return on investment. Kinda like saying my wife only cheats once or twice per year buts it’s our history and being okay with it. I want the best; Brownell ain’t it!

Unfortunately, many people here have such an infatuation with Brownell, and such an agenda to prop him up at every turn him, that instead of acknowledging even the smallest possibility of Brownell making a mistake or being responsible in any way for any loss, they make up excuses trying to protect Brownell's standing in their own imagination.

A little above mediocre except for the exceptions….this exceptions mean he is well above mediocre by definition

after 14 years and thus if a program & administration AND Team is happy with that, then continue.
Just glad that certain Clemson programs and head coaches (football & soccer, etc) have not been pleased for umpteen long years with above average play and thus recruit to win a natty..
