Is senior writer David Hood a real Clemson Man? Is he ALL IN?

I’m 73 years old and coached high school football all over the state of South Carolina and until lately always enjoyed his summary of Tiger sports because he was always a positive influence on Clemson nation! Lately I’ve picked up a lot of negative vibes and hope that he’s not being encouraged by people like Tyler from Spartanburg!

I've actually called him out on several occasions on articles for what I perceive as too beholden to the "pumpers only " crowd and not being objective enough. You know, the ones that think they're the only people who are all in because Dabo is the 2nd coming.
But I've found he, and especially Ryan Kantor as being very objective journalism most of the time. Just because someone tells the truth about a certain situation doesn't mean they're not All In.
Obviously, you think the only Clemson man is the one that would never question Dabo's philosophy on coaching. When in actuality it's the opposite. Most who are perceived "hand wringer " deeply care about Clemson athletics. They want the best for the program.

I disagree, Hood as usually been objective. He caught a lot of criticism in 2018 especially when he labeled the SC win “when a win feels like a loss” because of how many points we surrendered. Other than that, what negativity has he had to post in the last decade besides the last few years, which he has?

So yes, imo David and his family are definitely All In and genuinely love Clemson and everything it has to offer. Short answer is they're journalists. See definition of journalists.

Not too long ago, I asked David after one of his posts, that was a bit challenging of the status quo, if he was taking any heat because of it. He said he does not and the powers to be do not mind a counter view if it is fairly presented. They recognize that reporting needs to have objectivity, even if it comes from a team sanctioned website.

That Man does more work and gives more quality inside information than anyone I've seen!
He is always the first to relay news about the athletic organizations at Clemson, and knows
more about the "goings on" for the Football Team than anyone! Thanks for all you do and report,

During the 2023 football season, David Hood was writing articles stating exactly what I was thinking. I really value his opinion. I believe him to be a true Clemson man. This past season, David had the backs of die hard fans when he would go into the post game conferences. It is easy to report when the team is doing great but, challenging when the team suffers losses. David did well writing for us during 2023.

who is also a reporter. He’s not providing an objective view of the program. It’s fine because he is a reporter for a Clemson fan site, but if I want an objective, outsider viewpoint on something to do with our sports, I look elsewhere.

Yeah, you gave the short version which I like. I know its hard when you're not retired to read (and now listen) to all the Clemson journalists and pundits but ive found there's some good stuff out there. Same as here in the forum section.
