Some on here evidently think 20 plus wins in basketball is equivalent to 6-7 wins in football which shows how IGNORANT they are about basketball. If you don't know basketball and only follow football just admit it and stop trying to equate the 2 sports.

who said 6 or 7 wins? It is more like at least 8 wins. But Clemson won 9 games in football which is more like 23 wins in basketball. So that is 10 years of 9 or more wins -the equivalent of 23 wins or more for those years in basketball. Now you know why Dabo Swinney is future College Football Hall of Famer.
Is Brad Brownell a future College Basketball Hall of Famer at Naesmith?

If they start celebrating mediocrity, he’s a shoe-in! Prime example: 5 for 28 from 3 point range. ND couldn’t stop the pick and roll or high low game when Chef and PJ shot from the paint. Yet Brownell continued to watch PJ and others throw enough bricks to build a new gym. Believing in Brownell just proves Einstein’s theory of insanity. The majority of his seasons lacked a post season play. Only one was pretty good. I wish I could find a job that rewards mediocrity! Clemson basketball is a joke. Brownell is the punchline.
It’s our fault. We don’t spend the dollars to be successful. We’re getting exactly what we’re paying for. Dabo has to spend a lot of money building the best facilities for the football program to take the next step. The college football world followed suit and it pushed us back down a bit. We should invest in a great upcoming coach or find the next Hurley and invest in state of the art facilities for basketball. There is a direct correlation between success and dollars spent.

Einsteins definition of insanity got trumped this year by "Even a blind horse will eventually find an acorn.". Our blind horse BB found an acorn this season. He still needs fired, but he found his one acorn. Probably won't even find the feed bucket next season. BB should have been fired years ago.

Brad should be in the Hall of Fame for the worst coach with the longest tenure. It’s actually unbelievable a guy like him could be employed for 14 years by power five school as a basketball coach and his only accomplishment is winning two NCAA tournament games

20 win seasons in basketball can be EXTREMELY different depending on schedule. Take last year and this year for example. Last year NIT this year possible 5 seed in NCAA

So hard to do Oliver Purnell did it 4 straight seasons after taking over a dumpster fire. IF Brad was to match 4 straight twenty win seasons it will have taken a minimum of 16 years to do what Purnell did in 7. Now “move the goalposts” 4th place trophy hoisting coot.

Clemson is a football, not basketball, school. Fans cannot be expected to understand how unlike one another they are.
For instance:
Football has both a non-conference and conference schedule.
This is called the regular season.
Then after the regular season, there is what they call a post-season, when the teams who've enjoyed the most success during the regular season play one another in a tournament to determine which will be crowned champion.
Clearly, this is a vastly different success metric than the one used in basketball. I hope you now understand all the confusion.

This has been a good basketball season.
If we beat WF and finish 4th, it’s really good.
Make some noise in the ACC tourney adds to it.
A win or two in the tourney, even better.
No need to assess the long term career. Just a good season right now.

Honestly, there is no reason to continue comparing the two. The Clemson basketball program hasn't earned the right to be mentioned or discussed in comparison to Clemson football.
If the basketball team wins the ACC tournament and at least makes the elite 8 the next couple of years, it still would not be worthy of the conversation
