I want to publicly apologize to Tug

11

Jun 19, 2023, 11:46 AM

I asked the other day about Lake Hartwell and its fish. I in no way meant it to offend anyone and I love the lake. So in whatever way I offended anyone, I truly am sorry. I enjoy Tug’s humorous posts and intelligent posts.

If I ever offend any of you, please accept my apologies in advance. I love our Tigernet family

I don't recall you offending me.
Your passive aggression smearing the lake at Clemson was disturbing and makes us question if you are a coot.

I was only asking a question and it was not meant in that way to smear the lake. Again, in any way it was taken wrongly, my sincere apologies.

The only negative post that I have made has been about Brownell’coaching. Good enough man, just hoping for another coach.

Again sorry Tug. You are the man and I appreciate you

Shouldn't shaming Lart Hartwell be cause for a trip

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

I've always believed that it takes a good man to apologize for something they think they may have said that could have been offensive to someone else, and I believe that Tug is the type of man that would accept such apology. I think you're OK for now, but, I will caution you, there are some here on T-Net with super sensitive feelings that are really easy to offend!!!

Here was my question. It was something somebody told me and I really did not have the knowledge of the situation and was really just wondering.

I lived in Clemson before the lake was there, and I watched

10

Jun 19, 2023, 12:21 PM

… as the lake began to rise and finally fill.

I was a Hartwell Lake dweller for over 40 years. Swam in it, fished in it, skied in it. All my young life.

I remember distinctly when it was reported that the Sangamo plant had polluted the lake with their industrial waste and that it would be an extremely long-term issue.

Not sure how someone asking if the problem still exists is considered passive-aggressive.

It’s a reasonable question and deserves a reasonable response.

It still is a problem -more so in certain areas of the lake

https://scdhec.gov/bow/aquatic-science-programs/fish-consumption-advisories/lake-hartwell-fish-consumption-advisory

People are going to do what they want to do. If they want to ignore the advisory, they are doing so at their own risk and they really wouldn’t know if it was an issue probably until it was too late. Then they’d just blame it on something else anyway because they would never admit they were wrong. So if you want to chance it, to each his own as people take chances with food and other products every day.

Hasn’t been too long ago since the Cateechee ### was demolished to help carry sediment

To help cover that shat up in Hartwell. Don’t remember the amount, but it was a high number of cubic yards of PCB dirt that was removed upstream of the ###. Early 2010s.

I thought about your previous post and it appears not eating Lake Hartwell fish didn't get to the locals. We ate the fish since we were kids and all is good.

Just ask yourself. If people were offended by that then do you really feel the need to apologize to such soft thin skinned people? I wouldn’t and you shouldn’t either

As a person who grew up and lived most of my life in Anderson and whose dad owned property that is now part of the lake, I was offended that you didn't call it "beautiful Lake Hartwell."
