Relaxing tonight watching Casablanca. Always loved this movie and Bogart. What is your favorite Bogey movie? Mine has always been The Caine Mutiny, his portrayal of Captain Quigg was outstanding. My honorable mention is The Maltese Falcon. By the way, love hearing Peter Lorre talk lol!

Sabrina. Making anybody think he could woo over a young Audrey Hepburn when he was 30 years older.

Good movie but really mis-cast.

He did OK with Bacall! My faves are Casablanca and To Have And Have Not.

I think Casablance but Maltese Falcon is good too. Sydney Greenstreet is a treat in both too. And him and Bacall were great in To Have and To Have Not

"The African Queen" with Bogey and Katharine Hepburn was also terrific.

Casablanca will be forever my favorite movie. It's probably the most quoted movie as well.

Funny this should come up now. I watched, just yesterday, a YouTube tally of

the 25 greatest male and female stars of "Old" Hollywood, meaning they had to start before 1940. Bogie was Number One on the Male stars list, ahead of megastars like Gable, Grant, and Tracy. (Hepburn was the Number One female, hard to argue with that one either.)

Surprised Gary Cooper or Jimmy Stewart aren't top 3.

I assume they should fall within the criteria.

I don't think Gable should be in the top 3. something like that.

My rank:
1 James Stewart
2 Cary Grant
3 Humphrey Bogart
4 Gary Cooper
5 Spencer Tracy
6 William Powell
7 Charles Coburn
8 James Cagny
9 Robert Mitchum
10 Lionel Barrymore
11 Charles Laughton
12 William Holden
13 Clarke Gable
14 Gregory Peck
15 Mickey Rooney

Casablanca but they're all great. Ingrid Bergman pushes Cassblanca to the front.

It's also interesting how many movies not only included Bogart and Lorre were in together but also Sydney Greenstreet.

If that trio is together you've got a helluva movie.
