I probably can’t help you understand much. Regardless of the funding, the point is, a program with incredibly less can win in the right situation. It starts with the head coach.

Yeah coaches matter no kidding; we're seeing that first hand here with Bakich. Places like Duke, Vandy, UVA have a competitive advantage over many other places in Non-rev sports; the value of enrollment. Many of those guys wouldn't have gotten in without the sport they play and that's worth more at those schools.
Comparing Duke baseball to Clemson basketball is almost as dumb as JK comparing Clemson football to Clemson basketball.

So they have an ADVANTAGE over schools like UF, Oregon state and others that have won natties? You’re throwing way too many variables out there and missing my point. Every team has advantages and disadvantages. If you’re saying it’s easier for Duke to win at baseball than Clemson I would say you’re wrong.

Maybe the real point is that baseball has maintained a sense of its purity because money and greed haven't ruined it yet. Recruiting is still important and recruits actually get sold on a program and what it offers in terms of education and development, rather than how much they can make.
The ability for smaller, less funded programs can still compete for talent against the big boys, rather than be out bid by them. NIL has some influence for the top talent, but certainly not anywhere near what it is in football.

And that’s a fair point, but to say they have an advantage over schools that can offer more scholarship money or a better chance at winning and being at a program historically known for producing players is incorrect imo. I grew up with plenty of players that went to UF or FSU, they wouldn’t go to a lesser program for a slightly better degree. Maybe some will, but saying it’s an advantage to have less? I disagree
