We have 3 teams from the South in the Sweet 16 in the "West" Region: Clemson, North Carolina, and Alabama.

Maybe the 3 teams could all meet in Atlanta or Charlotte and share a long plane ride together to LAX to save costs and the environment. Ha.

They have priorities on who they want in the finals. Bunch all ACC together so it won't create an all ACC final.

general, I would say neither the Committee, NOR the country want to see a Finals game with both participants from the same conference.

Just like in the Super Bowl, the NFL at least hopes for the two participants not to have played each other already in the same season.

Clemson/UNC could play Duke/NCSU in finals.

They don't, and cannot, group conferences together. There are rules to disperse conference teams.

They spread the 8 SEC teams out to all four regions, so they theoretically could have had an all SEC final four, if only the SEC didn't suck so bad in basketball. I get that it is a function of the SEC having so many teams but seems they could have spread out the ACC a little more.
