because Cade isn’t ready. We know that Cade is super talented and has a lot of potential, but he doesn’t seem to be a Deshaun or Trevor type of generational talent.
This isn’t a knock on Cade at all. I’m excited about him getting his turn in due time, but am thankful for Cade and for DJ that things have turned out the way they have this year.

I think a lot of us said at the beginning of the year that the best thing for Clemson would be if DJ returned to form and Cade could be brought along slowly and learn our system without having to be thrust into it due to injury or poor play. So far, that is playing out and I hope it continues.

None of us have enough information to know if Cade is or isn't a "generational" qb. Main reason is because DJ is succeeding on the field and keeps getting better. Cade, unlike DW and TL, will not get the chance to dethrown a starter because DJ is playing pretty good if not great.
DW took over because Cole was not playing very well. Or just wasn't the right qb for Morris's offense.Either way it was clear DW was miles ahead.
TL took over because Kelly Bryant wasn't a good passer on a good day. That's it. Case closed.

DJ is better than last year, but slipped to number 43 from 41 in passing efficiency.
We really need him to play his best game, if we hope to beat FSU. They will be ready.

Heisman Trophy leading candidate is CJ Stroud. His statistics are as follows:
Total Yards (Rushing and Passing) 1741
TD/INT 24/3
Pass completion % 70.6%
DJ:
Total Yards 1773
TD/INT 14/2
Pass completion % 64.2%
Stroud is better but the statistical separation from DJ is not as great as you might think. We are getting plenty good enough QB play to go far if the defense continues to improve like they are and if DJ just continues what he is doing or even a slight improvement.

What I know is Dabo said that Cade may be the most talented QB that has ever played at Clemson. That says all I need to know about Cade.

Judge, I know you like to say some stuff just to see who takes the bait and this may be another one of those times but I actually do have to support you on this one.
I went back to early September and read some of your comments on various posts about DJ and actually found you to be balanced and pretty supportive overall.
In fact, on a September 1 topic started by TigerNet News re: DJ, (TNET: Uiagalelei sees a new QB for 2022, thankful that teammates have his back) you said, "I truly believe DJ is going to have a great season."
So, I do have to give you your just-deserved props for making this call before the season started.

Judge you have some of the worst fakes I’ve ever read, Cade hasn’t gotten a chance to show anything really. But I’m really hoping the way they refuse to let him throw isn’t a reflection of anything

He isn’t ready.
If he were ready out of the gate like Deshaun and Trevor were, the coaches would find a way to get him playing time. They haven’t.
I also think we would’ve seen some better plays from him if he were ready. Of course he wouldn’t be perfect, but he would have some “wow” plays over the course of the season. Other than that one drive against Georgia Tech’s scrubs, he hasn’t done anything.

He was give 2 plays Saturday night.
One was a handoff.
The other was a designed run into a defense that was more than ready for it.
I would like to see him play more.
PS. In an earlier game, playing with 2nd team players, he looked GREAT, as he drove for a TD.
I want DJ to succeed, but when he struggles, like he did in the first half, why not give Cade a series so DJ can regroup and watch from the sidelines?

But this guy may be onto something: Anyone predicting a successful season for DJ is calling Cade a Russian, Dabo is Putin and the ##### national champs.

Only an overly sensitive homer would take it that way.
Cade isn’t the generational, ready to play as a true freshman QB that Deshaun and Trevor were. That’s why he isn’t playing more, and that’s why when he has played he has been mostly underwhelming.
Again, it’s not a criticism of him. We know he’s talented. We expect that he will be a really good QB. But he isn’t ready, and that’s fine because he doesn’t need to be. DJ is having a really good year, which is the best situation for our football team.

Could Cade end up being that much heralded 5^ that never materializes and gets sandwiched out by the next one? The kid coming in next year may be a better prospect and I wonder if Cade could be a short stay. He’s too good to watch for 4 years. What if DJ comes back? Where would that put things too?

Your topic label seems to put the focus on you instead of the QBs. I know quite a few on here see you as a polarizing figure and you feel like you need to point out things like this to prove yourself to the naysayers. Might I suggest not giving people ammo with statements like “like I predicted” when making these observations.

If you think dj is having a great year your sights are set a bit low! He is a bottom 30 or possibly a middle 40 qb nationally...if our defense were in that shape we would not have won a game...except the scrimmage! If you can settle for a good pass once in a while and looking as lost as last year most of the time just wait till we play a good defense, then you can blame the offensive line! If dj is the answer then someone asked a stupid question...no wonder dabo Braggs about other acc qbs!

It's weird that you can say something very obvious that we all have seen, and people get so triggered by your post, that the respond angrily.
The only thing I disagree with is Cade not being a generational talent. We don't know that yet. He has very limited gameplay to assess. How many drives has he been in this year? Like 5?
