Interesting that SEC & BIG may be bidding for Clemson

FSU & maybe others in that both conferences may be working with the two networks that are showing those conference’s games..

in a concerted effort to help pay part of our buy-out fee to leave the the ACC.

I heard that BIG is offering 50% towards our total buy-out fee while SEC is at 33%, now..

but its well known that the SEC commissioner can get who he wants approved into the conference and he doesn’t want the BIG to get two Southern teams in his territory of coverage..

thus he & SEC getting Clemson, FSU & maybe others would put a stop on the BIG’s goal of a Coast to Coast sweep by entering the now voud Southern market.

Sounds plausible and a bit fun too since we are wanted!

FSU and Clemson is in the immediate friend group. Clemson is the cute girl who is good marriage material. FSU is the party girl whose skin appears 10 years older than it really is, has a few well placed piercings, and drink in one hand and baking in the other. But she does clean up well when necessary. Not sure who the fourth friend is…her name might be Virginia. Not sure.

I guess it comes down to which conference these teams are more valuable to. SEC - value is in blocking B1G. They get some great teams, but they already have teams in SC and FL. B1G - value is in adding great teams in states they dont have a presence in. They get to infiltrate the SE. If the B1G could land Clemson, FSU, NC, and ND, that would be something else. Of course they might have to jettison MN, IL, Purdue, and a team to be named later.

Getting in the South and especially Florida is more valuable for the BIG but its also a must for the SEC to keep this feom happening...I personally woukd rather the SEC but I actually think it may be in our best interest if we go to the BIG from a $ standpoint, as long as we go as at least a 4 team southern pod...or wven a 6 team pod (us, Miami, fsu, gt, unc, uva) ... that woukd certainly give the BIG a sweep of the country barring the deep south and texas!!!

Might be more of a ESPN VS Fox battle.

I dont really care which it is to be honest, i agree with those that say the SEC would make more sense overall, but then again i dont really care about the SEC gotten more annoying over the years. The big10 would have some fun matchups also, michigan, ohio state, penn state, usc, washington oregon. On the downside northwestern, iowa, indiana, illinois, rutgers. but the SEC has alot of borefest teams also like arkansas, miss state, vandy, kentucky, ,mizzo etc all snoozefest.

ultimately i don't think it will matter since the whole thing is going to blow up in 5 years anyway

I dont go to many away games anyway and think I would

prefer the BIG. If they get a southern division and eventually ND, they will no doubt dwarf the SEC in $$$. Plus, new and exciting matchups never experienced before. SEC is too inbred for my taste.

Keep this in mind :

What conference would like to have Clemson or FSU ? Well….

Any conference that would stand to reap a windfall of new TV money by adding them. Logically that would exclude the SEC until the ACC GOR deal expires or is at least close enough to tenure that it’s in a position to be re-negotiated.

ESPN already has inked TV contracts with both the ACC and the SEC. It wouldn’t make business sense at all for ESPN to re-negotiate their contract with the SEC after an addition of ACC teams when they already have those ACC team’s games under contract at a cheaper rate.

One thing that could possibly bring ESPN to the table early might be the thought of the long term ramifications if they #### off the cash cows of the ACC. Make no mistake, the B1G wants the Mid-Atlantic TV markets. They’ve been publicly out there expressing a desire for UNC and UVA. They’d love to have footholds in South Carolina and Florida as well. Their sugar daddy is FOX and FOX would gladly take market shares away from ESPN if the opportunity presented itself. Nothing personal - just business for them.

I don't buy any of this. Do you have a link?

I suspect the B1G and SEC would put themselves at legal risk by helping schools leave the ACC. It's more more likely both conferences will wait for the schools to free themselves and then the fight would begin.

Where did you "hear" this?
