Honestly...not too concerned about Cuse...

Other than their week one win against Louisville (now 3 - 3), I have not seen anything from them that leads me to believe Clemson will not easily cover the 13 point spread.
Sure...they beat NC State but without Devin Leary. NC State is totally different team with Leary. Otherwise, their wins came against UConn (3-5), Purdue (5-2), Virginia (2-4) and Wagner (0-6).

Being that the game is at the Valley I feel really good about it. For some reason, Dino and Syracuse usually give us a good game. I hope the Valley is sold out and rocking even for a nooner.

Purdue is pretty good. Other than the lost to Syracuse, they have a 4-point loss to Penn State who scored in the final minute. Will likely will represent the Big Ten west in the championship game

I think Penn State is grossly over-rated.

They got beat by the only two decent teams they've played.

Dino has their team playing with confidence.
However, it isn't just that their schedule has been soft (although Purdue is halfway decent) it is that their only road game has been against UCONN. Considering more Cuse fans show up for UCONN football (yikes think about that), they have not had a hostile crowd yet.
Next, the NC game was surprising. I expected the lack of Leary to hurt but the rest of the NC State team was near junk in that one. No pulse really offensively, NCSU's defense did not register hardly anything (behind the LoS) and other than a few INTs that kept them in the game, wow, Doeren had them as energized as a flat can of store-brand soda opened on the day of celebration of NC State's last title.

I just want more points on our side of the scoreboard than on their side when the game is over. And then, I want them to keep winning going forward.
The problem with the ACC has been that it is Clemson and a bunch of also rans. If we had even ONE other team who beat everybody other than us, the conference reputation wouldn't be so bad. That is why, at the first signs of life from a Miami, or a Virginia Tech, or an FSU, people will start trumpeting "They are BACK!" Because the ACC NEEDS somebody in addition to Clemson to be good.
And, to date, nobody has been able to pull that off in recent years.
Durn sensors.

Mobile QB, good running game, good offensive coordinator...........I wouldn't take this game lightly. This is exactly the kind of offense that gives our defense problems, as we saw on Saturday.

Our highly advertised D looked pretty fragile at the end of the game with FSU. Our pass defense is a crap shoot at best. Hard to understand people not concerned about Cuse. Flashback to 2017. If Dino does the up-tempo thing, we’ll still be looking at the sidelines for the call. Seen that before?

We just need to finally put together a whole game from both

the offense and the defense. If we ever play to our ability for a full 60 minutes on both sides of the ball we will crush almost every team in the NCAA.
We have done a great job winning the middle 8 minutes but need to do that for the whole game - from start to finish. It is no secret that every week we will get every opposing teams best shot. These slow starts (offense against BC, Defense against FSU) allow teams to believe they can hang with us and that can be dangerous - particularly against teams that are playing with a lot of confidence like Syracuse.

They can really run the ball. Tucker is probably the best RB in the ACC. Their QB can really run as well. #19 is a problem in the passing game.
Their defense is really fast. #3 is a great LB. They probably have the best CB duo in the ACC.
We have to turn their QB into a pocket passer. Even though he's much improved as a passer, I still do not believe he is good enough to beat us with his arm. If we can make him beat us throwing in the pocket, I like our chances. We also have to overpower their undersized defensive line. They are athletic, but they aren't very big. If our OL plays well, I like our chances.

Tremendously accurate write up. Kudos. Our DL is tiny Your OL will not have a problem. I predict 20-10 Clemson. Two elite defenses.

Well I hope Wes remembers what Robert Anae did to Brent’s D with Virginia in 2020. It wasn’t that close but it sure made us play longer than we should have. Plus Dino has given us fits. Hopefully their combination doesn’t mean trouble for the Tigers. I don’t think so but it’s something to think about or talk about early in the week.

One sequence I remember from that game….

We were up 24-3… With a minute left in first half, we sacked Armstrong on first down this and called a TO. UVA promptly went on a drive for a TD. 24-10 at half. Went back and looked and they opened second half with another drive, but we intercepted in the red zone. I actually thought about this in FSU game…we called the TO on D after a first down right before half and then FSU attempted to pass, etc. and move down the field before half…just couldn’t do it. It’s a move that works on PlayStation…but to me, if you’ve got the lead and they want to run clock to halftime rather than attempt to score, usually you should let them.
