That may be right, but Blake Wright will be gone next year. Also, Coach Bakich has indicated several times that he would be trying several players at different positions and in different roles this year.
By the way, Purify's role in high school was mainly as a shortstop (rated No. 1 shortstop in Michigan by Perfect Game)--and Andrew Ciufo will be gone next year. Bakich is not afraid to experiment with our current roster to see how things shake out. Every day I'm more impressed with Bakich as our Baseball Coach.

Was at the game today. He was charged with error on a missile that he probably should have fielded cleanly in the first inning. Then he made 3 great defensive plays through the rest of the game. 2 of these I doubt Wright would have made because it was Purify’s speed that created these plays and he’s clearly quicker than Wright. The kid looks like he has the potential to be a great one. Glad to see coach giving him opportunities to see what he can do. Hope he continues to get some PT when Nawrocki comes back.

Never said we didn't. But I trust Coach Bakich as our baseball coach. I'm very satisfied with his results thus far. And I haven't been impressed with your questions, or your incomplete suggestions thus far. Of course, you're only a rookie.

This didn’t age well! 🤣 Purify is 100% of the run production today. I know your point was his batting is better than fielding. I don’t see it that way. I think he could develop into an All American 2B or short stop. Many high school short stops end up being second basemen as they get deeper into their careers. The competition is much stiffer and usually the best athlete on the team is short stop. One things for certain; Coach brings in some fantastic freshmen!

he'll be an all american shortstop! Idk what OP has been looking at, but he has made SEVERAL great and clutch plays out in the field.

Kid made an error in the 1st inning and carried a low 200s average coming in. Some folks wanted to judge the kid too quickly.

Purify is a super young talent with little game experience. He is still learning the game and situational baseball and has a ton of natural talent. He will be a star at Clemson in the future if we can keep him.
