BIG NEW SCOREBOARD has me thinking...

Do you guys miss the days when football was just about football? Forget stupid big video screens that don't work. NIL money that turns good kids into prissy primodonnas. And all the "woke" distractions that have turned each football game into some big political grandstanding.

I hope Dabo sees this and realizes that perhaps instead of buying into Big Football, we get back to the basics and strip out all the crap that junks up our beloved sport. Call it "Amish-tizing" the game. I think it would be a big draw to players who love the game and don't want to get lost in all the glitz and glamor.

IMO. I'd love to see one of the letter boards replace that garish nightmare that only halfworks. But that's just old school jimmy.

GO TIGERS. SPOT THE DANG BALL.

My counter argument.. have you tried to do ANYTHING video related in Death Valley during a game? I usually can't even get text messages in and out, left alone try to do any type of video stream. And that was with the "upgraded" cell antennas they put in in 2017.

Old School Jimmy - you nailed it.

But why stop with the scoreboard. Let's go all the way back.

Let's take off the pads and play just in a jersey. Let's trash the helmets and go back to leather helmets. Let's not use teeth guards. Do away the grounds crew and play on whatever does or does not grow. Then fire all the refs and let the players call their own fouls. Really don't need but one coach, so we can save money on all those analysts, support staff, and extra coaches. And, while we're on a roll, let's just forget the scholarships. Let the athletes be students again and pay their own way.

And then there's TV. That's just a complications and the ads lengthen the game. How about just one broadcast game per week. Wouldn't attendance be better?

Kids just stare at them the whole time. Uglies stuff up. Minor league baseball teams even have them. They even have one in fenway park now. Blasphemy. But yeah, seeing replay is nice
