They want Tony Elliott or Jeff Scott! No way they would go there!

Yeah, I started laughing at Elliott or Scoot going there.

then again, they are the most delusional fan base in America.

Funny how they think that SCar is a " big time " coaching gig .
It is the historical equivalent of the HC'ing job at Indiana or Temple .

Honestly, if I were them, I would go after Ohio State's WR

Coach. Of the people he named, he's one of the few who would actually go. We aren't going to lose either of our coordinators and the rest of the suggestions are all west coast guys. He is right, though, that is how they can improve their future, but we will see if their AD is smart enough to figure this out.

I bet it kills him to have to use Clemson as the model for how to make their program successful.

I will be a big change from their past, if they go that way

Sep 24, 2015, 2:20 AM

For the past 50 years, except when they hired Brad Scott, they have always gone for the "name" head coach. From Paul Dietzel to Steve Spurrier. that has been their strategy. It plays to their inflated ego, thinking Usuc is a great coaching destination. Well, it has long been proven to be a final destination, a true coaches graveyard.

I think Sparky Woods would fit into the same category as Brad Scott. The early 90s was there "let's try young and unproven" period. Same results as always - mediocrity.
