Any fun baseball stories from the pros?
I saw Ryan Klesko play single-A ball in Sumter.
I was also at a Braves game in right field as a kid, and there was a guy beside us who said David Justice had a nipple ring and we (or mostly he) kept shouting at David to show us.

back when you could still hang glide off the top of glassy. Got a picture somewhere
He asked me if I was watching or jumping, I said just watching. He patted me on the head and said smart boy
When I worked at Beautiful Duncan Park (Home of Good Time Baseball) I met several before they went to the majors - Ryne Sandberg, Mickey Morandini, Keith Moreland
Washed a lot of towels and sweaty jocks, delivered a lot of pizzas to the locker room
Some coming back through after as mangers etc to Larry Bowa, Mel Roberts

Several hours (like 4+) before first pitch, I am on the first row on the third baseline and Dwight Gooden and Darrell Strawberry are playing toss from third to home.
I think me and my dad were the only two people in the whole stadium.
I’m all like Mr. Strawberry, Mr. Gooden, could I please get an autograph? They ignored me. I was sad.
No recollection of who won the game, but both of those bastids turned out to be drug addicts and I dont give dosfucks about beisbol.

of a Batting Cage facility, the name escapes me, circa 1987. Tom was charming and kind enough to answer my questions about the filming of Platoon. Charlie was hungover, sweaty and reeked of alcohol.
Met Johnny Bench at Jim's Paradise one night around the same time.

Game 6 1995 World Series at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium with my son. Bravos beat the Indians 1-0. Drove back to Greenville amped and went to work the next day still juiced.
Hearing my dad talking about watching a very skinny black kid rocking BP back in the 50’s during Spring Training. Dad was in the Athletics organization. He and another pitcher were watching this guy turn on the ball and were impressed. The future major leaguer was Hank Aaron.

I was in ATL for I think game two of the World Series in Maybe ‘95?
Deion Sanders played for the Braves and I think Ed Sprague from the Blue Jays hit a home run late in the game to win it for them

Saw a doubleheader there. Froze the first game. Second game we moved into sun. Burned up. Had three guys partying behind us. Family tried to sit in front of them. They told family it wasn't a good place to sit. Family moved. Smoke party continued. Hilarity ensued.

when i was a kid i went to see my godmother in queens. was a yankee fan out of the womb and went with uncles to yankee stadium for game. went down to seats early. my idol at that time was thurman munson. had my cap on backwards because of him catching. he came over and said hey to me and i was floored. great memory as a kid. still wear all my yankee caps backwards to this day. was crushed when he passed. i believe he would have been the greatest catcher to play if not for plane accident. go yanks.

Came back with some INCREDIBLE super strength in my pitching arm. I could really throw gas. Ended up being signed by the Cubs and got them out of their slump and into the playoffs. Arm popped again and I ended up just being a regular kid again. Fun times, but my step Dad tried to be my agent and he was shady AF. Best thing to happen out of the whole thing was my Mom left him for one of the guys on the Cubs team.

Andruw Jones proudly showed me the custom interior in his Lexus LS400 that he had to pay someone to drive because he didn’t have a license. My Spanish was mediocre at the time so it was a fairly choppy conversation, and he didn’t speak a lick of English.
Did a few bumps at the Cheetah with Otis Nixon too.
Might have made up the last one.

I grew up a White Sox fan because I got a really cool hat when I was about 8

I ended up with like 6 hats, a sweet Starter Jacket, and even had a gold white sox charm on my gold necklace when I was like 12.
I had never been to a White Sox game. Fast forward to when I'm 22. I make a rugby all star team. We travel out to Colorado to play other US all star teams. We have a night to spend in Denver and they take us to a Rockies game and guess who they are playing? The eventual 2005 World Series Champion White Sox.
We have terrible seats in the outfield, but this lady who is working in the stands tells a couple of us to come see her after a couple innings.
We go back there and she puts us in the 2nd row behind the dugout. We tell her thank you and get our picture taken with her.
And one time, Sid Bream spoke at our church.

Autographed a baseball for me
Was at an Indians Spring Training game because I guy I played softball with was signed as a replacement player during the strike. He was 38, and still throwing gas. 89 fastball with a wicked sinker too
He made the team and flew up to Cleveland for opening night, only for the strike to be settled, and he never made it to the bigs
Eff pro baseball. I'll watch the heck out of some college baseball though
