FSU fans really hate Miami fans

I knew they were rivals but wow FSU really can’t stand Hurricane fans.
Before our FSU game I ran into a group of FSU fans who were tailgating near the lake.
“Yeah this is our first time here at Clemson. You guys are nice. Not like Miami fans.” They went on to, unprompted, mention how terrible Miami fans were 4 more times in a brief conversation. I was like yeah sure I guess.
Maybe our memory of how bad Miami fans are will be refreshed on October 21 down there.

I've never had any problems with Miami fans. Quite the contrary, actually.
Worst fans by far (in order):
1) Maryland
2) NC State
3) Jawja
4) USuCk
5) TN Hillbillies

It’s crazy how experiences vary.
When we last played at VaTech I had a group of their fans that were overly nice, even forcing food and drink on us. They walked to the stadium with us sharing their traditions, etc. Everyone we encountered there was just super nice.
We were expecting them to be aholes. Strange how that happens.

There are bad eggs everywhere you go that give everyone a bad name.
I even have heard there are a few polite Georgia fans.
I have a friend who's a Georgia fan. Nah... just kidding...

Like last year I went up to Winston Salem and was actually surprised to run across a few pretty rude Wake fans after the game. But they just had a heartbreaking loss so I’ll give some slack

ACCCG games and had no issues with them either time.
That said, there are alot of random dbag VT fans out in the wild. Every time I meet somebody around Charleston with VT gear or VT decals, I'm immediately skeptical of them. Just some real tools.

Maryland fans were definitely the worst I've ever encountered. Good list. Frankly, I've become annoyed with FSU (not including Bret)--especially all of the blustery talk over the summer.

Nancy, SC, TN and WVU have been my worst experiences. LSU fans got pretty out of control before and during the Sugar Bowl, but I have a soft spot for Cajuns.

2) NC State (they are the Lameclucks of the ACC)

Maryland fans used to be pretty bad but once they descended back into the depths of mediocrity, all of the bandwagon NFL fans bailed on them.

I’m shocked Ohio St isn’t on this list. They would be top 2-3 for me.
Unless this is stadiums you’ve visited and are commenting on how Clemson fans were treated at the away stadium.

I agree. Our experiences with Ocry0 St fans at playoff games has been horrible. They are top 2-3 on my list for sure. But our son attended an OSU/Penn St game in Columbus when he was a student at Penn St. He said their group of obvious Penn St students were treated fantastic before and during the game. So the stadium experience seems to be better than the traveling fans.

Most FSU fans will tell you that our two biggest rivalries are Miami and Florida. But, the Miami rivalry is one mixed with hate and respect. The Florida rivalry has zero respect included.

.... I don't know which other rivalry (UNC, UGA??) would be along the lines of Miami for FSU. We definitely want to win the game, but we respect the rivalry. We don't respect UF, for lots of historical reasons.

It's hard to have any respect for a program that is built largely on failure and is known more for their mouthy, ignorant and deluded fans, the worst steroid scandal in college football history, tailgate sexcapades, hand jobs in the stands, the stupidest entrance in college football, and being a graveyard for any head coach foolish enough to accept the job.

Gotta bring back the Miami/Florida rivalry! Orange Bowl early/mid 80's. Only time I've ever seen a group people trying to throw an opposing team fan off of the ramp to the upper deck.

When we played them in 2004 at their place, some of the fans were pretty bad…at least the few that were there. People stopping their cars just to cuss at us was irritating. It almost got out of hand a couple times. A guy in the stands kept taunting us and trying to pick a fight but shut up and disappeared when we came back at the end.
There are more “bad fans” at other schools, I’m my experience.

November 6, 2004 we played in Miami at the old orange bowl stadium. Won in overtime over #11 Miami.
2005 was in Clemson and we lost in overtime.

They simply do not like each other. Keep in mind Miami is responsible for lessening the number of national titles FSU has won. Don’t forget all those wide right FGs of the late 80’s early 90’s.

Nole Lurker here, my wife echoed those sentiments a few years ago. We went to the 2016 Miami game at Hard Rock Stadium and then the 2017 Clemson game at Clemson. She could not believe the difference in how we were treated. I've been to Clemson twice and the fans were top notch both times. Have been to Miami 3 times and won't go back.
As far as rivals go, I can't stand Miami. Their fans are the worst i've encountered. Always talking trash, anytime FSU does anything remotely positive they mentions the 80's and shout "5 rings" as loud as possible. Trashy program with trashy fan. If the ACC folds and Miami ends up in the MAC it's fine by me.
Don't like Florida either, but their fans aren't near as bad as Miami.
VT and NC State fans have generally been pretty bad too.

I don't know how much experience you guys have with Miss St fans but those dang cowbells grate on your nerves. Anytime we cross them I want to tell them to hang onto their bell and I'll just shake the #### out of them.

We beat them 58-0. There was nothing fancy about it. We ran the ball down their throats and there was nothing they could do to stop us.
Their players trash talked the ENTIRE GAME despite the beat down, as if they weren't aware of the scoreboard and the fact orange cleat marks were on their behind. They were seriously out of control. It was so funny because Dabo had an on-field huddle with the entire team coming out for the 2nd half that he allowed to be broadcast live to the country. "That isn't who we are, blah, blah...". It was a masterpiece of marketing.
Al Golden decided there would be no long passes from DW4. That strategy led to a 42-0 halftime lead for us. They continued the same strategy in the 2nd half.
Needless to say Golden was fired the next day.

But I would say that....
1. Georgia has awful fans.
2. FSU has bandwagon fans. They don't show up when the team is not a contender.
3. Maryland is a yankee school. Terrible fans.
4. South Carolina. I don't think they are bad fans, just not very smart or realistic.
