For those that watched it on tv..

What was up with that fumble? The replay in the stadium sure looked like a fumble to me!?! We booed the refs for the entire series.

Ball looked like it was moving before his head hit the ground. (I think his head was the first thing to hit the ground LOL)

The ball barely hit the sideline but it did. Heads up great play by Barnes though. Kid played really good except the time he got beat deep which o am sure he will learn from.

On this one, the refs did the right thing by letting it play out and wait for review. Ultimately, the ball did hit OB, and thus the play was dead there. But if it hadn't touched blowing it dead there would be a mistake.

It was a close play but I think that the zebras got it right. Isn’t it a rule that the ground can’t cause a fumble?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It definitely is a rule

On the Jumbotron it looked like the ball was moving before, but tv is a lot crisper. Thanks for the insight.

Also, how did they score that last td? Left with about 3 minutes left and we had just recovered a fumble. As we walk around stadium I hear that they scored a td. Radio reference a trick play but heck I don’t even know how they got ball back.

On the first replay I said "that's a fumble" as it looked like the back of the centers leg caused the fumble. The second replay though it seemed like the elbow hit the ground first.

The players arm hit his teammates heel just prior to hitting the ground. The contact with the heel made his shoulder rotate so you see the ball move but it is his whole arm and the ball is in his hands and under control. Then the elbow hits ground and he loses the ball. But the instant his elbow hits the play is dead. NO FUMBLE!

Right call was made on the field. Right call was UPHELD on

review. People should have just moved on, instead of griping about what we WANTED to have happen.

I think this was the one where his elbow touched first, then the ball came out. It was subtle, but ultimately the correct call.
