Don’t even feel like turning the tv on. Thought I’d log into TNet to lift my spirits and improve my condition.
After reading a few posts, I told my wife to call an ambulance, I’m taking a turn for the worst.

I work in healthcare. Had the first 3 shots. This is my 5th bout since 2020.
First 2, nada other than runny nose. Last 2 in 2023 put me on my back for a couple of days.
This round is not as bad as the last 2, but still feel rotten. Wife had symptoms Friday and Saturday and is back to normal. The fairer sex I guess.

Didn’t stop me from getting it. Guess one could argue that it made the first 2 very mild. I don’t plan on gettting any boosters. The last booster made me feel as bad as having it and I got it 2 months later.

My mother is nurse administrator at hospital in Iowa, they made them get every vaccine related to Covid, I think she has had 5 shots now and just had her third bout.
I know I had my first 2 shots and 3mos after the second one, I had terrible bout of Covid. I had to have home health nurse come check on me 2 times daily because I refused to go to hospital I was so bad. Also had Virtual Dr check-ins daily.
Needless to say, I don't believe these vaccines have done near what they promised. I think everyone has been getting small doses of exposure and their natural immunity has been boosted which is why severity is not what it was.

Didn’t get covid despite working with covid patients daily until Omicron 2 winters ago.. haven’t considered a booster since. Once we got to Omicron, there are only a handful of patients I’ve seen in the hospital with Covid that weren’t “incidental findings” of people who came in for something else but were swabbed in the ER and happened to test positive.
The first 2 vaccines were effective. The only people I saw die during delta covid were 30-50yo who were unvaccinated. I bagged 1-2 patients a day during delta. It was the worst field medicine style experience I’ve ever witnessed where every single shift at work for a couple months was “young” people being coded by 2 RNs only knowing that the CPR was not going to make a difference. We only had 2 people “coding” patients bc despite being well staffed, these about to code or code situations were occurring in 30-40% of our rooms at any given time.
Covid caused ARDS pneumonia, if we can’t oxygenate you, then CPR wasn’t going to save you, and it didn’t.
It was demoralizing and heartbreaking and compounded by ignorant internet ######### who questioned placing people on ventilators, if Covid was even real, and turned a healthcare crisis into a political and social ####### circus. We went from being health care hero’s and brave public servants to being ridiculed while then having to walk back in to another 12 hours of hopelessness as everyone just died. The shame some of you should carry but I’m sure never will.
At this point, if you aren’t immunocompromised l or older, I wouldn’t mess with boosters. I’ve been sick a couple of times and didn’t swab… why? I’m going to isolate whether it covid, flu, RSV or just “the funk.”
Y’all be well out there, always a good idea to take a deep breath and appreciate all the good we do have and are surrounded by.

Great post … Family Medicine doctor in SC. My two Covid death’s unvaccinated women in their 50’s. I’ve had all the vaccines except the Fall booster and just got over Covid for third time. It’s like influenza, vaccines aren’t perfect, but I firmly believe they saved lives, especially in the beginning of the pandemic.

you think it just may have something to do with putting that poison in your system. seems to me everyone i know that is getting the dreaded is fully vaxxed and boosted. i thought you people were supposedly protected from the great killer. that being said, get well soon.

Geez that's insane, I've gotten Covid just once with no vaccine and felt like every sinus infection I've ever had (39 yrs old). I swear those shots and mainly all the boosters have just made things worse, I know its easy to be sucked in with the news and media on it, but our bodies were designed to fight off viruses and infections, otherwise mankind would've gone extinct a long time ago. But hope you get better soon!

Just a bunch of angry folks trying to out-anger the other with the same, well-worn positions they always use. Tell families that lost someone to covid, who saw the effects up close and personal, who saw it was like nothing else they ever had...tell them there's no such thing.
I am 100% against the government forcing a vaccine, a mask, even stay-home orders on anyone for any length of time. I very much believe the "vaccine" was rushed, untested, and since has proven to be largely ineffective for anything except myocarditis and "died suddenly."
But to deny it's real? I personally had it, completely unlike anything I've had before. I felt like the insides of my lungs were covered with oil and no matter how much I breathed in or how frequently I breathed, no oxygen was getting through. It bombarded me for a good three weeks and at the end of two I had made my peace with God and was ready to die. Gotta be the closest I've ever been to death.
Hope you never learn firsthand of the reality of covid.

Get Better. I broke my hip and then tested positive for Covid. Sucked big time and stopped any PT.
Hope it is a mild case. Mine unfortunately was not.
It's been about a month but I still have Covid cough (which I have been told can last months)
Hope it all goes well.
