Anyone hee collect clemson sports cards?

I've been looking on ebay and other sites at TL's football cards and....WOW! They can get pricey!
We have 2 autograph cards and several rookies, but I was thinking about getting one for someone for Christmas, but they have really gone up since I last bought one.
Are they really that valuable or just in demand?

EBAY asking prices are always super inflated on collectables. They do not reflect trade value. Most of the postings have a negotiate function. If you are going to buy something, go to a reputable card store and get a card graded by Fanatics, PSA or other company. This way you can be sure the autograph is legit and the card is in such shape that will bring the most value back. You pay more for this service but it can be worth it.

It is great for older cards but not for anything current.

they are expensive. As the career goes so does the price of a card.
Of course Signed, Jersey and Jersey sig cards are what most people want.
Usually a player will be the most expensive as a rookie, then will go up or down during their career as they do.
A DW sig card was $500.00 his first three years with the Texans. Same card is $150 now.
I bought a Hunter Renfrow at his hi-mark last year for $100. It is now selling for half that. But I knew that would happen but I wanted that card then.
Most cards will drop after retirement a bit and then settle at their true value. You can get a low run Bills Sammy Watkins signed jersey patch for $50 now and it will not lose value.
A Panini signed Stephone Anthony used to be a $50 card. It's around $8-10 now and will remain there.
QB's are expensive in their prime.

The ones I'm looking at are the autograph cards with the jersey piece. They look good but are pricey.

You would not really want to buy a TL right now for value, no doubt.
Christmas, during the football season is a no-no for a pro bowl QB if you are wanting it as an investment.
But if you don't want to delay the happiness it would look nice on the mantle after unwrapping

You can also find apps which will show you the trending value of cards. They are not free but you can get a free trial.
EBay also has a price guide for cards.

I am a pretty decent collector, mostly MLB stuff. I do have a few nice Trevor rookie cards, and on my desk have Renfrow and Deshaun auto cards in Clemson Uni's.
nice Etienne Framed Jersey in my office as well.
still looking for Trevor auto in a Clemson uni but as you said they are pricey!
