Any old timers here from Clemson College with their Rat Dip Certificate?

Just framed my Dad’s from 1951. Old Clemson College. It really was one he!! of a place !

All of those guys are gone now or in their early to mid 90’s. I always have wondered how those cadets would feel if they saw all these drunk @ss brats hanging out of the windows on the quad.

No Rat Dip Certificate but still have faded orange 1959 Rat Cap..

She become my wife 3 years later and helped get me out of CC as a married college student.

I think they stopped Rat Service shortly after Dad graduated.

My older brother (Jerry) blamed his baldness on all the RAT head shavings he got as punishment in his 1957-1958 Clemson "University" Rat year--I did witness him going bald that year!

Dad did tell me about him and 2 friends being tied up, blind-folded and being taken out to the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night and being left there. They had to find their way back.

Tigerband fraternity did that to us pledges in the spring of 1972, but they dumped cow crap on us before turning us loose.

still have my rat cap which I’ve framed and tons of fun memories. Rat season was THE best indocrination for a freshman. Had to learn everything about Clemson in a very short period of time. Will never forget those days and couldn’t imagine Clemson without them.

Being a "Rat" at Clemson was about the most fun thing ever. You were special. Going back to your hometown with the shaved head and the hat was a girl magnet.

-- not to mention the Rat Hat it was a free pass home when hitchhiking.
I still have mine as someday when they yank my license might need to get to town.
