The Miller kid (RT/78) was owned by the GT defensive end.

The OC kept calling play after play to the right. It was like he forgot the field had a left side.

It worked we started running left! 1st start by a true freshman. Dabo said Miller made mistakes that he didn't in practice.

Miller didn't have a great game, but he is also getting some undue bashing.

As an offensive tackle, if the DE in front of you lines up WAY outside of you and runs 7-8 yards straight up the field into the backfield and then tries to loop around to the QB, the OT is taught to mirror him until he tries to turn in and then push him deeper into the backfield.

That strategy works great when the QB steps up in the pocket or flushes the pocket in the direction of the presser.

That strategy does not work so great when the QB hangs out 10 yards deep and waits.

Miller appeared to be awful on a couple of plays just like this, but I thought these were some of the plays where he used the best technique.

Unfortunately he didn't get the movement up into the pocket he needed on most of those plays.

Sometimes the QB tried to move up in the pocket, but the interior line allowed a push and there was nowhere to go. That still isn't the fault of the OT.
