Zac Brooks RS fail
Dec 21, 2012, 4:03 PM
|
|
"The item that should stick out--in addition to the bulk workload--is Zac Brook's 65 total snaps. This is 65 total snaps to waste a redshirt. I understand the staff was concerned following the departure of Mike Bellamy. However, the waste of a year of this young man's college career was wasted for 20 snaps against Ball State, 16 against Furman, 20 against Duke, a couple against Wake and Maryland then special teams play to cap off the year."

With the destinct possibility of skill position players leaving early for the draft, using a red-shirt on them is getting less useful. If the player is a stud, he's gone after his Junior/RS Sophmore year anyway.

Not wasted, had there been an injury this year he would have had game experience. Why does everyone want to critize the staff.

No need to have 3 RBs in next years class, especially considering what we have coming in 2014

You don't really understand college football, huh?

All over the country there are freshmen that got less than 100 snaps. Some guys need the work, even if minimal, and some guys need to redshirt. Coaches all over the country have made similar decisions with sound basis. Coaches have been doing this since you were in diapers. Please stop pretending as if you know what you're talking about, and especially stop whining like a little girl who just lost her Barbie. Just stop.

It would have be nice if you had cited the source of that quote of which I respectfully disagree.
Given the level of talent that we have coming into the program over the next two recruiting cycles it is important to understand the Zac Brooks time is the 2013 season. Beyond that I do not see Mr. Brooks getting much playing time.

Morris said he needed him at the beginning because of the number of snaps we would run.
He shows bursts of brilliance.
