a lot more than I do now. I think I’ve just accepted that with the landscape of college football changing so much, we are being left behind and without major changes, we’ll win 8 or 9 games a year and that will be about it.

Yup as soon as NIL and the portal became the norm, it killed any love of the game I cherished. I still like the sport for the sport itself. But the culture and legacy of it all is dead. The football landscape is too money hungry now and it feels almost grimey to even be invested into it these days.

Concur, love Clemson but the sport isn't what it was for me. My wknds used to be planned around football, now I really only try to watch Clemson and if time for others I will but not gonna change plans around football.

That, plus it was a real downturn when Dabo started to become combative with the fans. Yes there are crazies and over zealous fans, but you are a head coach being paid in the top 5% of your industry. Answering for failures is part of wearing that crown.

Didn't pass us by just different philosophy that is being challenged. If you are gonna live and die by HS recruits, then you need 4-5* players. Not getting high 4* RBs, not getting 5* WRs, we will never compete with the current landscape.

Agree 100%. I’m fine with Dabo avoiding the portal if that’s what he wants to do, but not offering money to recruits from HS isn’t going to work. You can’t cut yourself off at the knees in both places. Live in the real world - these top rated players are going to take the best offers 99% of the time.

I dont see Dabo living in this landscape more than 2 more seasons unless he sells his soul to the TP and I don't see that happening. He is gonna have to invest in HS recruiting even if its a bidding war or we wont have the talent needed. Much like we saw today.

It’s a coping mechanism because you know know we aren’t going to be competitive anymore without making coaching changes and we probably won’t make a coaching change, so you have started to be less interested so it doesn’t hurt as much when we get woodshedded by Georgia.
I used to be like that too, but I love my university too much to be silent anymore. We need changes ASAP in football leadership.

I’m not sure leadership changes, all 5* players, and a loaded depth chart would help us win a NC this point. We have way too few resources to buy the players and we are too small to raise comparison NIL money like UGA, ALA, OSU, etc. They have thousands and thousands more alumni than we do. Expecting us to compete for NC now is like expecting Vandy to win SEC & NC. This legalized purchasing players stinks! Don’t think I don’t think changes need to be made, especially with some of the coaches who have had too many mediocre seasons, but expectations for NC or even ACC titles seem rather high for many on this board in light of the legal hiring of players by the big schools. All the talking heads keep harping on Dabo not using the TP, but no one ever mentions that he tried, but was outbid. As for today, UGA was much better conditioned than CU. We are missing stamina! Maybe we need to start looking at changes there? Still love my tigers & always will! Go tigers!

Programs are in trouble when the fans become apathetic and the coach becomes complacent. I missed the first half because my kids had a soccer game and didn't even care much. I enjoyed my kids games and didn't even bother to check my phone for the score. Then I watched the second half. At first I was mad Dabo refuses to adapt, but then I got over it pretty quickly.

The first half was significantly better than the second half. The offense couldn’t get out of their own way but the defense was very good. I wasn’t feeling too bad at halftime. Still hoping the offense would find a rhythm in the next drive. That all went to h3ll in a hand basket on both sides of the ball in the second half.

To me cfb died circa 2019 with literally handing lsu players money on live tv after the game, and nothing happened.
They’ll extract every dollar they can out of cfb which is what the expanded playoff is about. The good guy left in cfb will exit soon enough, whether on his own or via unruly fans/donors.
