If our OL can handle Bama we can Auburn

Add in that unlike with Deshaun last year, we're going to unleash all of Bryant's running ability this game and that's going to give Steele fits. They ran a man to man defense in the back end last year and Bryant will eat that alive if they have their backs to him and he breaks the LOS.

I hope you're right. I'm excited to see which WRs emerge, too. Overton surprised me in the Kent St. game. Of course, Cain/McCloud/Renfrow will be solid. But I think Overton could have a big game.

We're going to need Cain and Overton to make them pay for doing so.

Pressing them is better than Not touching them at all (See long pass for TD to Cain). DB just looked at him and Cain blew by him.

Good Lord ....
That plays right into the strength of our Front 7. Please let KB try to run on us. Clemson will not win if they're not successful throwing the ball down field.
Our DL is fast and disciplined .... he may wiggle for a few yards .... but he'd have to rush for over 100 if the game plan is for him to run a lot. That aint happening.

Defense and the fewest turnovers will win this game. Not sure if Bryant or Stidham will be a factor other than being a punching bag. I do however have more faith in our coaching than Malzahn's. By the 2nd half he'll get frustrated and start trying to take over and well, we saw how effective that was last year.

No Question that if Gus gets involved in play calling .... we'll lose. Love his system ... hate him as a Play Caller.
I agree with you except on Stidham. He will definitely have an impact. Even If I'm wrong about our OL ... and Clemson puts pressure on him every snap ... we'll work the short game passing.
WHEN Stidham has success through the air, it will open up the run. The same could be said for Bryant, if he's successful through the air .... I'll be nervous as heck.
I feel like our DBs are good enough Watch out for #6 Carlton Davis at CB (Will probably go pro after his Jr year this year) ... he was 1on1 with Mike Williams last year .... and Trey Matthews (Safety) 3 year starter. Our other guys are Stephen Roberts at Safety and either Jamal Dean or J Davis at the other CB ... they both play in Nickel.
If Bryant is on with his passing ie. 20-27 200ish with no INTs .... My guess is that you'd win. If we get pressure on him, I think he might not be the most accurate passer.
I know this sounds funny. But watch the D clips of this game. Their QB was fast as HAYUL ... but the D did not over run ... they contained him and looked very disciplined while executing their assignments on the triple option ....
Yeah Yeah it's GA SO ... I'm not saying they're even ok ... it was a bad team, but you can still see a few things.

Auburnfan... I respect this post. I think the true test of both teams will be how balanced each team can be. I personally think we'll have more discipline and on D than you'll see all year (until Bama). The environment you're bound to experience will be one ofthe loudest all year. This game is make or break for both of our seasons. -Stidham and Bryant need to make good choices to put up points, so we'll see who's cut out for the big game play. Both haven't been tested like this yet... we could pro con this. Bryant I would say is more elusive on paper - We'll see. Stidham is possibly a better passer. Both will have their pocket presence, perseverance and IQ tested.
This is a battle of newbie-ish QB's in my book.
Both D's are lock stock and ready to rock. Both offensives are capable of good runs and deep passes.
My prediction: -If we can shake Auburn in the first 2 quarters, we'll be up 2 scores and ya'll in the hole for a fight to the finish. -If it's close into the half, then we'll see who is disciplined enough to go the distance. -If y'all are up by the half, we will meet the challenge and not let up to the final bell.
Let's spot the ball and let 'em have it!
Drive safe and pray for good football weather (Btw - rain, sleet or snow is good football weather and I can tell you from personal experience at our most recent "hurricane game" w/ Notre Dame that we like rain ?? just as much as clear skies.)

We haver played a lot of great running backs in the past number of years. I would not be surprised if Pettway breaks a long one against at some point ....probably early. Everyone has done that against us (those with a great back). However, very few of those teams have beaten us. I think the last time we played you here, your RB broke a 75 yarder .... but you lost. Dalvin Cook did twice .... lost both times he did it (or maybe he just did it once ...can't remember). Samuels, from Ohio State was going to bury us, according to the press ..... not so fast my friend. He did nothing with all of his speed. We don't get overly concerned about "great" runnignbacks ... nor do we panic if they break a good run.

This Offensive Line And Scheme Had Your Big Brother BAMA Gassed by The 3rd Quarter. This Thing Will Stay Close Until Mid 3rd Quarter Where Clemson Tempo Will Really Start to Impact Your Front 7. That Being Said If Clemson is Sloppy With Turnovers Etc. Auburn Can Win This.
I Think Auburn is Solid And Would Be a Pick'em at Home, But Stidham Will Have Trouble With Atmosphere and Clemson Defense. His Big 12 Experience is Still a Bit Thin With Him Only Having Played Around 200 Snaps 2 Years Ago.

Most of his snaps were against Oklahoma, Ok State, and @KSU
Before you laugh at "@KSU" I went there when AU played @ KSU in 2014. Suprisingly loud. And he was a True Freshman .... Didn't even flinch.
I'm telling you ... this guy won't get rattled.

Recruiting rankings or not, the OL was good enough last year.. and we brought back what, 4 out of 5 starters along with some seasoned backups? I'll take our DL over Auburn's any day, and our OL practices against those guys.

Dayum!!!!
That got me even more excited.
One glaring difference in my opinion is the QB. Yes, Rivals had him a 4 Star .... but 247 had him a 5* and the nations #2 QB.
I would give the edge to AU at QB ... as would most experts. I'd give the edge if White were playing healthy too.
I've been telling you guys about our recruiting.
Some of you have talked about developing players. Our coaches have sent many a 3* to the NFL. Even 2*WR Sammie Coates (now with the Browns)
Our problem has been QB/QB health. The last two seasons were awful. We missed on Jeremy Johnson ... he wasn't what everyone (including most experts) thought he'd be. He cost us a couple of big time QB recruits because of his hype in 2013 & 2014.
We now have depth at QB and everywhere. We will rotate about 12 DL ... they'll be fresh in the 4th.
Gus said about a month ago .... boldly that "AU fans are finally going to get what they've been waiting for"

Get stoked about stupid recruiting rankings all you want. Bama had multiple #1 classes when they took the field against us. It don't mean jack. You guys probably avarage better recruiting than we do but how did that work last year? Ohio State? You should also know that OL talent is the most difficult to evaluate but appearantly you don't. And qb rankings? You had the #1 guy last year who beat DW at the elite 11. How did that work out?

To beat Bama
You have to have an elite QB ...
Like you did LAST YEAR with the best player in the history of your program D Watson.
Like we did with CAM NEWTON
Like aTm did with JOHNNY MANZIEL
You would not beat Bama this year.

You do realize that reason I said what I said is because you brought up QB recruiting rankings? You did that. Not me. You don't know what Kelly Bryant is capable of. You don't know that Stidham is better than KB. You are throwing out recruit rankings like they will be the determining factor as to who will be better. That's just plain foolish.

Yes, I brought that up because ... we had a good QB last year .... Gus only played him for 1/3 of the game.
This year we have a Stud QB with a REALLY good back up.

DID you Watch the game??
LOL!!!!!
Sean White played a 1/3 of the game.. That loss was on Gus swapping the QBs out every 2 plays. And not playing the BEST player on our team, Kam Pettway .... for no reason. Maybe he didn't know how good he was until he played his first snap.
I've said on here more than once that if Sean White would've played EVERY snap, Auburn would've won by AT LEAST a TD.

So Sean White would have led you to victory. We will just send our national championship trophy to Auburn. Oh BTW here you are complaining about coaching decisions but I have read where you have stated your staff is better. I got you. You guys are superior in every way in every phase of the game. We don't stand a chance because Gus says he has the team Auburn fans have been waiting on. I'm not wasting any more time with you. You're nothing but a troll and I don't have any respect for that.

Gus ... NO .... but Gus and Dabo aren't winning this game ....
I wouldn't trade our OL RB DL LB, ST or DB coach with Clemson's
I left out WR & QB ... because the jury is till out on Chip Lindsey. Kodi Burns in his 2nd year as WR coach. He has some studs .... we'll see.
So I'm VERY confident in our STAFF ... the ones who will actually be calling plays.
***Insert if Gus meddles ... it won't be good for AU

Good, cause if that game goes south, expect the entire board to be looking for you the next day. Play confident all you want, wait till you see the trolling that comes your way if you lose with all that confidence.
The funny part, you've just laid out so many times the exact reasons you will have zero excuses...so don't try using any. We've heard this stuff from several teams fans for several years...LSU, OU twice, OH State twice, even Bama last year...you know the outcomes of all of them, right? Oh, and not all of those had Watson btw. Enjoy.

& broke his ribs..and even then he threw a game winning pass into the end zone in OT that our freshman wide-open WR couldn't bring in due to its zip & hooking right.
Clemson was only team to give Cam & Company a real battle & scare during regular season at home.
