Michigan, Florida, aTm?
TX has 0 impressive wins on their resume. So, why are they perceived as being a far superior team to Clemson?
Hint. Securities Exchange Commission.

Because it’s Clemson. It’s not about Texas. It’s never really about Clemson’s opponent. It’s about these clown ### coaches that we have getting the team ready to play, and if the team is ready to play, then they have to rely on those coaches to call plays aggressively that allow them to play the game of football aggressively. I know I’m breaking this down like a kindergartener but it really is just that simple….. if we are throwing all over Texas do we continue to do it? If we are running all over Texas do we continue to do it? If West Goodwin’s plan is working will he stick to it or will he make adjustments before Texas makes adjustments? You just can’t trust this incompetent coaches to allow the players to go ball the heck out. They handcuff the players.
They are the only reason we lost to South Carolina

We lost to S.Carolina in large part because we could not tackle LaNorris Sellers. In hindsight, now that I’ve become less emotional about our loss and hav8ng taken the time to watch full-game replays twice, our overall defense was terrific. We were in better position to tackle Sellers than any team, but we didn’t get it done. Because Sellers is Cam Newton-esque as far as a running QB. Sellers is not as fast as Bama’s Milroe, but he’s shiftier and harder to bring down than Milroe. That’s saying a lot.
LSU couldn’t stop Sellers, either; their bacon was saved when Sellers went out with an injury. TX A&M couldn’t tackle Sellers. Alabama struggled to tackle him; Bama and Clemson did comparable work as far as minimizing S.Carolina’s offensive output.
Despite the tackling problem, which doesn’t merit belaboring any more than what I’ve stated above, there were three other factors … all on offense … that kept us from winning. Two involved eminently easy (athletically) accomplishments that we failed to e r Ute and one involved an eminently easy (decision choice) in which we made the wrong decision.
The missed pass to Wesco on the slant route deep in our territory. Not a hard throw to make, but CK2 missed it. Had he hit it, Wesco had nothing but green grass between him and the end zone. I’m not blaming this in CK2. Even great QBs miss easy throws. But we cannot blame the coaches for this perfect and aggressive play call not bearing fruit.
The end of game INT by CK2 was a terrible throw on a super easy pass. If it was a DJU-esque pass that got thrown into the dirt, then we kick a short FG and tie the game. If the throw was good and Mafah caught it, he’d have been tackled easily and we call TO, followed by the game tying FG. Either way, it’s OT.
The bad decision was from Mafah on that end around when he tried to make that lateral after he was on the ground and the play should have rightfully been called dead. Just eat the ball, Mafah. Don’t try to be the hero and attempt something that risky.
None of this is related to ‘bad coaching.’
So … plenty of what you stated is wrong.

TAMU is a Louisville and Coots tier level opponent and they won at Kyle Field which isn’t a gimme.
Outside of SMU is our resume impressive?

The coots scored 40 on A&M and held them to 20. Coots are more than an A&M opponent

Perhaps but I don’t think the Coots win by that much (or at all) at Kyle Field.
I would put their best 3 wins as 1. atm 2. UMICH 3. Florida/ Oklahoma -I went back and checked and this was pre Lagway not as impressive
The best argument for them being a large favorite is common opponent score and that our losses are worse than their losses:
They lost to UGA once by 2 scores and once by less than 7 in OT
We lost by 30 points and our other two losses are against lesser opponents than UGA
It’s a fair point that their schedule was pretty weak Brett FSU, but I don’t think the fact that they are favored is purely an SEC conspiracy.

I think this post is spot on. There's no conspiracy here. It's fair to ask who Texas beat, but it's also every bit as fair to ask who Clemson beat. I'd guess there are a number of people who aren't really sold on SMU - I mean who did ~they~ beat??
The only team to have beaten Texas is the #2 team in the Country. And while Michigan did have a "meh" season, Texas did beat them in the Big House about the same as Oregon - the #1 team in the Country - did. They beat their arch-rival by 30 on a neutral field, and their other arch-rival by double digits on the road.
Statistically, the teams are similar on offense, but Texas has a fairly significant edge on defense, against what most consider to be a more difficult schedule.
Vegas doesn't build all those fancy buildings in the desert by setting pointspreads purely on conspiracy.

Exactly. Not much room for conspiracy there.
They don't care who wins - just that even bets are on both sides. That way, they win.

Their big and fast 6'5" 350 lb. linemen are bigger and faster than our big and fast 6'5" 350 lb. linemen. Their big and fast 4.47-40 RBs are bigger and faster than our big and fast 4.47-40 RBs. Their strong-armed 6'2" 210 lb. QB is bigger and faster than our strong-armed 6'2" 210 lb. QB.
Their two-time national champion HC is better than our -- oh. wait. They don't have one of those.

Would love to see a Florida-Texas rematch. I believe Florida beats them by 10. That team started playing some good ball towards the end of the year with a healthy Lagway.
Not a Sark fan… not sure why. Does he look like the guy that thinks he is smarter than everyone else? Cannot put my finger on it.
