Coaching vacancies

In order of best job to worse 1. So Cal 2. The U 3. Coot U (I put the U ahead because of recruiting and past championships) 4. Maryland 5. UCF
Any others that I'm leaving out? Keep in mind these are all open in mid season. Unheard of so many open before seasons end.

Yes, but a large part is off campus/online. I've driven through the campus and it's very, very small.

USuckeast is a better job than the U and MD. Much better facilities and much better conference. The U's facilities are the worst in ACC by far. ACC is easier to win NC but SEC is a bigger deal if not to any of us. MD has no place to recruit and no tradition in last 25 years.

To say the U's facilities are the worst in the ACC

Seriously undermines your credibility. Really? Worse than WFU? Worse than Duke? Worse than 'Cuse?
Or maybe, just maybe, you're another Coot poser as your pulse would suggest.

Wow, calling someone a Coot on TNet because their opinion differs... Who would've thought!
And I realize these rankings/opinions are from 3 years ago, but they have Duke and Wake Forest ahead of Miami in terms of facilities...

Maybe you're the one who just lost credibility?

To make your point? Credibility much? Since then Clemson has completed the WEZ project and built the Oculus.
Go back to FGF.

Go back to FGF? You hurt my internet feelings.
Although, thanks for supporting my original insinuation that you're the type of T-Netter who thinks everyone's opinion that differs from yours is a Coot.
People like you are turning T-Net into the Clemson version of FGF.

I heard something similar to that as well... can't remember if it was the worst in the ACC, but towards the bottom I believe.
I also graduated from Clemson and have the privilege of being told to go back to FGF. People on here kill me...

For some reason I could see the chickens an easier place to get quality recruits than it would be to MD.

Rufstone is dead wrong. USuCk has a history of nothing so your premise does not hold water. It's known for a place where coaches go just before retirement to get a golden parachute. Hello Holtz and Spurrier. I think Beamer will retire and Va. Tech will be open.

Orlando is a wonderful place. Bortles and Duke Johnson came out of UCF

Would defintely be the place any family of any coach would chose over ScJr.
Disney World or Universal and thousands of fun things to do, or Columbia which comes along with unrealistic expectations from a perrenial loser, and nothing to do.
I can see it if a coach is like 60 years old with kids in their 40s, but not for a young up and comer with a shot to be somebody and to be in a place where his children would love him forever for choosing.

Columbia is a great place for 60-70 year old men to coach and find the adoration they're looking for from ditzy 18 year old girls. And golf.
Not a place to bring or raise a young vibrant family.

No one from ScJr has come close to having the NFL success these ^^ two have in the past 4 years.

Fla.....this could be an exciting time for the right individual to come along, recruit his a$$ off, set some winning traditions, build some new facilities and (hopefully) expand the stadium seating,---the opportunity certainly exists.........I pretty much agree with OP's ranking list of coaching vacancies---it'll be interesting to see who else gets added to the list at the end of the season.

Maybe not as likely, but the coots could potentially be competing with UGa and GT for a HC position. I know it would cost both schools a lot of money to get out of these contracts, but both seem fed up. Less likely to happen in Atlanta since Johnson just won the Orange Bowl last year, but if he loses bad to the puppies again like normally happens at the end of the year, who knows?
