So, what can the NCAA do to solve this problem?

Do you think it is a problem? Professional organizations do not have unrestricted free agency with no salary caps. Do you think the NCAA, if they decided to try and change the system to put some rules into it, that they could?

What rules do you think the NCAA could institute that the courts would allow?

Disband the NCAA. The courts would approve that!

Seems like anytime someone offers a solution his answer is "That's unconstitutional." I assume, from his posts, he has some sort of legal background.

I just haven't seen him post a solution to the problem. I'm wondering what his solution is.

tnet-military.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is simple. Players sign a contract with the school. Period. If they don't

want a free education, and whatever NIL money comes with it, don't sign the contract. Go to truck driving school,or welding school,or whatever and join the workforce.

Show me where the federal court said no to this.

There has to be a way to structure the agreements between schools and players so that it falls under Contract Law in order for their to be enforceable consequences.

Didn’t we have a similar situation, although not to the same extent?

The Kissayi kid flipped from Minnesota, was a mid-year enrollee, and then transferred 2-3 months after enrolling. I think he least made it through the spring game before packing his bags.

Classes don’t start at Oregon until Monday, so he is withdrawing without attending a single class. With Kissayi and Belk, we still had to release them from the letter of intent so they could receive a grant in aid from another NLI school without fulfilling the one year contract. NCAA got rid of NLI in October.

This could get more common between early signing day and the portal cutoff.

I have no idea so pure speculation, but I imagine players are paid something at signing. Wonder if this kid is taking the money and running to the next bidder.

If he goes to Ohio State there needs to some serious effort to stop tampering. He spends 3 ir 4 days in Pasadena around Ohio State boosters? How long before school A has a player wear a wire and busts school B in the act? I say very soon.
