not an incorrect assumption. It seems to me that this event fits better in Willy B. The roach is used to hosting sporting events where silly, goofy, and juvenile are common. So, 81,000 people (I assume many who have never been to Clemson before) on a Saturday night. That traffic sounds fun. I'm going to stay home with my grumpy old self and watch our softball team play the bees from Atlanta.

And this is a new era that not only you are not comfortable with, you’re not willing to accept.
You’re free to be a curmudgeon and yell at the clouds, and that’s exactly what I expect old people to do.
This is an incredible and extremely specific niche that Clemson baseball can utilize for NIL, social media exposure, and future recruiting.

It's incredible that these boomers just can't seem to grasp this.
No other college baseball program is doing anything that gets close to this much exposure.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Clemson baseball. Bananas vs Party Animals.
Show some respect. Boomers built everything you enjoy. All guys seem to be Nancy Boys after GenX. It’s not your fault. It’s the education system.

If they built everything, that includes the education system. Not that parents have any responsibility for how they raise their kids or anything.

Look you are free to disagree with people like this, but the disrespect & quite frankly contempt you show for older people is both amazing & deplorable. I was taught to respect my elders even if I don’t see eye to eye with them & don’t agree with them. You don’t get much ruder or hateful than telling someone that time has passed them by. You might as well have said you are old so therefore you no longer matter. They have lived lives full of experiences & accomplishments to be so dismissive of them is a mistake as well as being terrible conduct & disgusting. The younger generation would be wise to not treat their elders so poorly. God willing they too will be part of the older generation one day.

No different than if the Harlem Golbe Trotters came to Littlejohn just happens to be the baseball version in Desth Valley or when The Rolling Stones played there in the Late Eighties Great exposure for Clemson and hope to see more opportunities like this

Because you wouldn’t have to revamp and fundamentally change Littlejohn to host a globetrotters basketball game.

Why are people worried about that? It's April...DV won't be used for football until 4 months from now. We have one of the best turf grass programs in the country and a fantastic grounds crew. And, it's not uncommon for the field to be re-sodded in the offseason anyway.
This is a win-win all around. Fun for 81,000 people, great exposure for the university, and a huge revenue generator for the town and the athletic department. It's essentially an 8th home football game financially (locally).

There have been times the field didn't look all that great the last few seasons and the field paint looked terrible. I remember threads on here during the season complaining about it. Let's hope they can recover from it and the weather cooperates.

If they want to play there and if 81,000 people want to pay to watch grown men clown around on a baseball field, have at it. And, If Clemson benefits from it, I'm all for it.

Major recruiting tool. If you are hateful, bored and just generally unhappy with yourself, go join the Lunatic Fringe. The Fringe stays in a perpetual state of unhappiness.

Man. Cobbox, what gives?! I heard one person say you’re a good guy. It’s just that every post you make is negative and bashing someone. SMH. I bet you could win a million dollars and all you’d be able to say is you hate being in a new tax bracket.
You do realize you’re the pot calling the kettle black in your OP, don’t ya?! Personal attacks have no place here.

No laughing, no fun, no enjoyment. I get it.
For the record, we live in St. Pete and we had a great time at the Tampa (Bucs stadium) Banana event. And, I’m 66 and trying not to yell at people to get off my lawn (easier for me as I don’t have a yard - just a town home). To each his own.

Here is a synopsis.
I don't think silly is funny. Yeah, I never liked the three stooges.
I think the traffic will be way worse than a Clemson game.
I have other more attractive (to me) entertainment options that day.
Now, stay the heck off my lawn!

I will be honest I didnt get it either until I took one for the team and went to the one they had at Nat's Park (at the time the largest in their history).
It ended up being a great time. While enjoying a few beers under the sunshine we watched the kids laugh their tails off, rush to get some autographs in between innings and marvel at some of the moves they can do.
If you go thinking you are watching actual baseball, you'll be disappointed. If you go in knowing its a family fun source of entertainment based on the premise of baseball and not take yourself too seriously, its an absolute blast.

I've spoken to many people who refuse to watch the Bananas because it isn't "baseball". I don't think they're wrong.
The Bananas have created their own niche that brings on the aspects of baseball that people enjoy, increases crowd involvement, and make it a spectacle more than a normal game.
Maybe a good comparison is the old XFL? Similar product base with different rules for an entertainment driven crowd.
It's good money for the area, good for being the first college stadium to host, and good for general exposure.
Avoid the traffic for the day and next time maybe the AD can avoid scheduling such an event when there are other games in town.
