You know how I had my deck painted and it looked reel good

and all.
So every year, I get a bird trying to build a nest on my porch columns.
While the deck was being cleaned and painted, I had removed one nest and covered up the popular nesting columns with plastic bags. The bird just started building on the next uncovered column.
So I goes to Amazon and purchase these here bird spikes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09198YF2M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Looks pretty solid. I throw one on top of every column. The bird then manages to remove them quite easily and prepare another nest.
So this past weekend, I spend an hour cleaning the top of each column. I then applied a strip of velcro to the top of the column and to the bottom of the bird spikes. These jokers ain't being pulled off by no bird.
Fast forward two days...

Birds used to make nests in my outdoor light fixtures

I tried closing off openings with chicken wire and other supplies, yet they still found a way every year.
The worst part is every other year, their designs were subpar and they trapped themselves inside (the first year they were roasted to death when I thought turning on the light would push them to leave). Causing me to climb up a long ladder to remove maggot infested dead birds and babies, then clean the light of all the crap.

they run the neighborhood cats off my deck.
leave them alone for about 4-5 weeks and the babies will be gone and they will leave you alone
Their nests are pretty dry
be glad you don't have phoebes - they smear mud & #### everywhere

That's what this effer is. I didn't know what it was until googled. It likes to nest by the last column (not the one in the picture). It flies the whole length of the deck bombarding it with #### and mud.
I think I'm going to kill it.

Don’t shoot the birds with your slingshot.

You’ll kill some baby birds mamma and then you’ll have to hide it from your sheriff dad. Then you will have to raise the baby birds and you will learn a valuable lesson. You will not want to let them go. You’ll shed a tear, but so will we. And the birds will somehow be better thanks to your destructive path.
Birds are cool. Put out some feeders and welcome the crap bombers to your porch.

Wait for the bird to hatch its little puppies. When they

asleep one night, gently scoop up the mommy bird and give her a tranquilizing chemical that leaves her paralyzed, but awake. Tape her eye lids open, and set her upright in that old Lazy Boy you have out in the yard that you might have somebody coming to look at later next week.
Dump gasoline all over the nest, and light it on fire and make her watch. After her baby herd is dead, drive her out to the front of the trailer park and release her with the memories of that night. See if she comes back.

Fill up that space so no room for nest, or blast them out with Megadeth.
