You hear very little about Minnesota . .

But they may still have something to say in the Big 10. You gain a lot of confidence as you keep winning. Would love to see a Big 10 upset team make it. . .then we can beat the hell out of them :)

Minnesota is the benefactor of one of the easiest schedules

Oct 20, 2019, 1:56 PM

for a Power 5 team in all of college football. Their schedule:

South Dakota State (FCS)
Fresno (3-3)
GA Southern (3-3)
Purdue (2-5)
Illinois (3-4)
Nebraska (4-3)
Rutgers (1-6)
Maryland
Penn State
Iowa
Northwestern
Wisconsin

The have played no out of conference Power 5 teams and most of the FBS teams they have beaten are mediocre at best. Predict Minnesota will "row the boat" into a rock in the next 5 weeks and lose at least 2 or 3 of their last 5 games.

Minnesota is a prime example of my issue with the Big 10. The Big 10 gets favorable press and is over-rated in the polls every year due to the bias among Northeast sports writers who continue to give head nods to the blue bloods of yesteryear (i.e. Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State). Quite frankly, the Big 10 West is abysmal but you never hear any of the yapping heads mention it...

Like I stated, you gain a lot of confidence. Illini beat Wisconsin, what do you think Minnesota think they can do? This is college football.

Nobody is talking about them for good reason. Their most impressive win is against Nebraska.

Assuming they beat UMD next week, they will be 8-0 against Penn State on Nov 9. That is when we can gauge if the Gophers are legit.

Their helmets make me laugh. One side has a picture of a very goofy looking gopher.

The larger issue is "Floyd of Rosedale". Can the Golden Gophers sustain their momentum and take home the Heroic Hog, or will the Hawkeyes burst their bubble? An anxious world awaits.
