DJ is a good guy. Stop bashing him for coaches missing on his evaluation.

Fair take. DJ not a good QB, does not make him a bad person that deserves attacking on a personal level.

Yep, DJ good young man, flunked as a great 5-star QB at 3 schools

But truth is he set our program back 2-3 yrs, as did having less quality WR'ers for him, and as such Clemson Football is still recovering.

I don’t know, I saw what I saw when he stepped in for Trevor during the Covid year. I think he got the yips that first game vs UGA and never recovered

I've maintained all along that it was a miss on recruitment

by our staff buying into all the west coast hype.
He, probably, would have fared better at a lower-tier level, but that ship has sailed. I think he tried his best, but it just wasn't good enough to maintain top quality that we nor the other programs needed. The most startling recruitment to me was that by Coach Norvell at FSU, as he should have had plenty of film, as well as chit chats with Dabo and the OSU HC, to make a reasonable assessment.
Regardless, I wish DJ well with the only advice geing to be very circumspect with public comments about any of the programs. That's because I think he did himself a great disservice with his words about our program, given how long he remained up under center.

Awful take. Coaches did not miss on him as he was a terrific QB in HS and also his freshman year based on his play at ND.

Shoulda kept his mouth shut after he left and keep his pops in check. If he had, I’d be with you
He didn’t. He is getting the grief he brought on himself.

Thank you! It was the high school recruiting analysts and the coaches… he simply had a cannon for an arm. That’s it…it was never his fault that all these expectations were put on him
