All the talk and preseason hype surrounding our football team and the various publications who speak to this reminds me of my youth.

Athlon or Lindy's. Phil Steele or Street and Smith , .etc.,

I continue these purchases today just to weigh them against one another and form
a better idea of what to expect than the ordinary Clemson fan. It's a hobby.

It goes back to my youth when I first became a Clemson fan.

We received the daily newspaper back then and getting the Sunday edition after the previous day's game was downright exciting for me. I know , poor bored kid.

There would sometimes be at least 4 full pages of writeups and of course the box score and most of it in color with pictures of the various players. All of which I clipped from the paper,

Getting the few magazines that did exist were a treat that I had to purchase myself.

Now decades later , I have boxes of these magazines with the all the assorted newspaper clippings stuffed inside these publications.


I figured since it's Sunday , I'd share.

And right on the cover are 4 pics with Cade being top left..and listing of Top 10 with our beloved Tigers being ranked #4 (Rat Poison) and LSU @ #5 which means Clemson has a lot of "pre-season" potential & happy hype but in the trenches they have a lot to prove.

They will~

As a kid, I used to grab one at the grocery store every week. At $12.95, Mom probably would have made me choose between a magazine or a case of Yoo-Hoo.
