ALL teams have a game or two like this. They play many, many games and they cannot be perfect every game ... GaTech is hot right now, and it was the perfect storm. Really, the true test is Saturday as we know.

It’s weird how “off” we are over the last 15 years when tangible goals are in sight. A win yesterday and Saturday could have been a defining moment where the soon to be longest tenured and highest paid coach in the conference wrests control of the ACC on the way to an ACC regular season title. Now…poot. Even if we beat Duke we still don’t control our destiny.

What destiny do you speak of? First in the ACC? Top four seed in the ACC tournament? Making the NCAA tournament? Clemson controls all of that.

Even if Clemson beats Duke, the Tigers still don't control winning the ACC regular season. If Duke loses and wins out, the Devils get the #1 seed in the ACCT. And forget about winning the ACCT. I would settle for Clownell winning two games.

If you look at Duke's remaining schedule and Clemson's remaining schedule there was no way that was going to happen. Clemson has a few tough road games and Duke has none. Duke was going to win the ACC regular season weather Clemson beat them or not.
The best thing Clemson would going for it by winning was another Quad 1 win, and securing the double bye for the ACCT.

BEAT the number 1 team. I basically picked friends of my Son and asked him who did he want on the team (I was more into the “fun” thing)
I remember that glorious victory. The team we beat was stacked with players who scored highest in the tryouts. Their coach was this real dic, typical DC type
We played much like GaTech … I was yelling attack, attack then I would yell now run away ! (Get back on defense). It was pure will. Then we all got pizza (our version of chicken wings with copious amounts of beer).
People said the game reminded them of the Killer Rabbit scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

1 game in 10 days. Before that it was we were tired and beat up. Now it looks like we can't handle R&R.
We should lobby the conference for 1 game every 3rd day with no exceptions, ever. That way we can get into a rythem
