Watching the game in Death Valley?

Aug 26, 2014, 2:16 PM

A guy in class today told me the Georgia game was gonna be played on the big screen in death valley Saturday. Does anyone know this to be true?

What kind of crowd do you expect? Tailgating?

I'm sure there will be some limited tailgating....

but none of the lots will actually be open.

Also, keep in mind that the field will be off-limits during the telecast.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

What about the FSU game?

I might be in the area that weekend.

I honestly don't see the appeal of watching the game in DV

Aug 26, 2014, 3:24 PM

If I'm watching the game on TV, I'd rather do it on my big-screen TV, with my comfy couch, and in my 72 degree living room.

There's a huge difference between watching a live sporting event in person and on TV, but this is still watching on TV. Watching TV in 95 degree heat for 4 hours seems kind of silly to me.

The parking lots will be open (paved ones) Gates open at 2:30 ( I think). I will be there because there is a chance this will be a one time deal. Not only that, but it will be like a practice tailgate and partying with who knows how many Tiger fans. I could see it not being enjoyable for everyone, but this will be a fun way for my family and maybe 20 friends or so being together and not destroying someone's house, mostly because my kids are like tournedos .

But I don't think there will be a bad place on the planet to be a Tiger once we grab that W
