Fact-checking Elon Musk's claims

Elon Musk has made a number of exaggerated or unevidenced claims during an Oval Office event alongside President Donald Trump.
The billionaire, who was making his first major media appearance since beginning his role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), said his team was seeking to improve transparency in government.
But he provided no evidence when making sweeping statements about corruption in government agencies and also defended false allegations he had spread about US funds being used to send condoms to Gaza.
BBC Verify has examined these claims made by Musk.

divine the news from multiple sources to stay informed. In my job I have to talk to one party, any other possible party, and then a disinterested third party, to learn the truth. Of these sources of information, the disinterested third party is usually the most accurate as they lack any motivation to lie. If you have an interest in anything, and the truth is counter to that interest, then that's where lies come from.
This was apparent ever since covid, and before really. There are trillions of dollars of interest in forgetting about covid. There are billions of dollars of interest in treating it. As such, the best sources of information are countries who do not have a Pfizer, a Moderna, or a $28T economy, don't have democrats, or republicans. A DISINTERESTED third party.
But you have to make the effort, sadly. That's the world we live in now. Freedom is a great thing. But too much of any great thing, can be very bad, and eventually counter-productive.
Someone below posted "news" from a substack. You can write anything on substack. Checked, and there was much more to the story. Xitter this morning, same. Post shows Trump walking off, supposedly forgetting to swear in Tulsi Gabbard. Was fake. ALWAYS have to check now. And I say always because there's no party promoting truth anymore. Dems and pubs both have their own flavor of liars.

Another ridiculous attempt to portray Trump as demented

People who try that angle don’t know what it’s like to really bust their arses for long hours for months at a time.
Trump has outworked every president since Jimmy Carter. If you include the two years long campaign + fight against LawFare, then no presidents since Abe Lincoln and Ulysses Grant had worked as hard or as long as Trump.
I remember going to night school and taking two classes per quarter while working a full time job back when doing a technical job. Millions of people have done the same thing, so I’m not recounting this personal experience to suggest any special accomplishment. Rather, I offer myself as an example of a young person who was exhausted half way through the quarter, and thus prone to lapses of memory and occasions of poor articulation.
People who, for one reason ir another, were able to avoid such exhausting circumstances may not be able to comprehend how these lapses of memory and stumbles of speech might be possible.
Clinton, GWB, Obama, Trump vI, and Biden took the job much easier than Trump. GWB, Obama, and Biden were largely ceremonial presidents who had their staff and agency heads (taken from people within the Administrative State) doing the brain work and deep thinking for them.
To his credit as far as work ethic and personal involvement in the job, Bill Clinton applied himself. Trump also applies himself. Neither were / are a ceremonial president who had / is ceding his Constitutional duties to unelected bureaucrats.

He mostly watches TV, and gets on the phone. He does some appearances as required.
This idea that he's some incredibly hard-working guy his hilarious. As President during Trump 1.0, most of his calendar was listed as "executive time".
He's probably the least read, least working, and least policy-literate president of our lifetime.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound to anyone paying the least bit of attention to Trumps efforts. Hate the man as you want but to question his work ethic after watching Biden for 4 years is just embarrassing for you.

But no. I do not actually believe the US put 150 million condoms on a cargo plane and actually sent them to Mozambique, but I'm thinking (like most literate people) that if you are providing $400 million access annually to fight AIDS, then you are probably going to buy a few condoms.

Funny how Mr. Transparency thinks the Freedom of Information Act shouldn't apply to DOGE.

"Rules for thee, not for me" seems to be his motto. He has repeatedly used his Twitter account to doxx people he doesn't like and target them for harassment, but he threw a fit when people publicized his names of his underlings.

There are so many myths going about Leon. He's just another con man making all his money from other people's inventions. He did some coding of his own for Zip2 in the 90s, but that was pretty much the end of his technical contributions. Since then, he's been an investor mainly. The guy even went to court to get the right to call himself a "founder" of Tesla (he isn't, not really).

Elon is a brilliant businessman; effective marketing is an element of his particular business brilliance. The ‘Elon Musk - guru’ brand is very powerful. He’s got a big cult following that most likely gets reinforced by a multitude of staffers who grind through Xweets, compose pithy suggested responses, and then submit them to Elon for final approval before the clever response is forthcoming.
Brilliant businessmen are always smart. They also recognize talented people who can be molded into committed employees. They also recognize where and how to get financing; Elon made his initial fortune by taking advantage of govt funding for projects that the politicians wanted to see developed.
It’s sour grapes from the Administrative State’s parasites re Elon’s ability to identify the correct people to work the DOGE thingy and expose the corrupt source of money from which the AS’s parasites enjoy a cushy life. All these worried AS parasites have to sustain their sense of self is to look for nobody-cares criticisms of him and of DOGE.
Back before Biden screwed up and singled out Tesla for being excluded from the government’s list of approved suppliers for EVs … because Tesla was not a union shop … the TDSers would still be lined up to fellate ole’ Elon.

This is typical Musk. He's learned alot from the right-wing bullsht machine.
If what he said about her was true, then they'd have grounds to arrest her for fraud or embezzlement. I'd like to see him make that argument in front of a judge.
We all know he won't though, because he's probably FOS about Powers.

Nobody is in meltdown, we’re just shocked by how gullible Trumpers are.
Most Americans knew Trump was pond scum after seeing decades of fraud lies bankruptcies lawsuits galore mistresses #### stars women charges assaults convictions and more fraud.
It seems the Trumpers’ brains have melted down.
