I place the blame squarely on Dabo's shoulders!! in the first possession, 1st drive on the 20 yd line 4th and 1, he went for 1st down rather than kick the field goal. That 3 points came back to haunt the team. 1.08 left and we're scrambling our A$$ off trying to win with a touchdown, otherwise we'd kicked a chip shot game winning field goal rather than CK scrambling and pass deflected off Mafah's hands. Interception and game over. Also they let one man beat them all afternoon long. Sellers, they couldn't tackle him!! and this was no surprise he could run around like a jack rabbit.

Are you a prophet in that you knew what the situation would be at the end of the game? If he had kicked the field goal and we lost by 4 points it would be the same questioning. No one knows how a game might end so your coach made a decision with a strong running back to carry the load. We had several other situations where we could have gotten the ball in scoring position, and we didn't even get a first down. They had several opportunities and didn't score either. There are many wish I could have or wish I should have plays that are never even looked at when you win. Yet, when you lose, as a coach, you question them all. I would like to see a replay of the final interception as the point of the ball may have touched the turf. The refs were not very consistent on several no calls. However, Carolina played well and got the win as time ran out.

They showed the replay and he had his hands underneath the ball and in fact, his hands never even touched the ground, nor did the ball.

It was hard to tell from the angles they showed, but I'm surprised they didn't review it at least. It's literally part of their protocol I thought - all scoring plays and all turnovers - but then again, I don't think protocol is stopping a play after the ball is hiked, dropped back, and a pass is complete. So, I'm with Dabo. I don't know what the rules are anymore, I don't know the protocol.
But at the end of the day, it's not all on one play. It's more than that. They let Sellers run all over them all day. It got to the point where I was fearing the pass rush, because everytime we got close he just found a way to get out of it and break one for 30 yards. So much of this falls on Wes Goodwin too. I hate it for him, but Dabo needs to show him the door.

Look, let's be honest with our selves, 7 days prior to playing the coot at home we played the Citadel at home and their QB and RB had a field day running through our defense. Beamer watched that film and said if the Citadel can do that, we surely can bc our QB and RB is just as good or better than Citadel's, and they done what the Citadel done for the second week in row on the very same FB field. Wes Goodwin had 7 days to come up with a plan to stop the coots and he failed miserably bc the coots did do exactly what the Citadel done exactly one week later...
The only thing that I'll blame Dabo for, is if Wes Goodwin is still our DC come Monday afternoon!!!

No. I just know this team needs points to get going. And rivalry game at home or seems like a chance to grab MO and get crowd going. Failing on fourth is the same as blocked kick to me. So is rather kick it especially very early.

With all the blocks we've had in our kicking game this season, I would have made the very same decision that Dabo made, the play called isn't the one I would have chosen against one of the better defenses we've faced all season. I would have had Cade to string the play out to the sideline that would have given us a much better chance to gain 1 measly yard!!! I promise you, I would have never run Mafah into the teeth of that coot defense!!!!

Yep, I'm with you. With how mobile Cade is, I'm shocked we don't have more bootleg and under crossing mesh routs in our concept. But yeah, with our kicking game, always go for it on 4th. I don't want them lining up for another 3 point kick until next season.

That’s because we have a system OC that has been living off his name vs. his results against good teams.

Blocks are on the staff. If they haven't fixed it then they are taking away a third of the game. Chip shot fgs have to be made

This loss will stick in the craw all year. To lose 2 out of the last 3 years is unacceptable. Not to continue to attack is unacceptable. Not to adjust to a running back playing QB is unacceptable. I like Wes Goodwin and seems to be a great guy but I don’t think he is a DC. Hoping Dabo will shake his hand and nothing personal but show him the door at seasons end. As far as Riley is concerned I would give him through next year to get it done and if he does then great but if not then maybe him and his brother can find success in Division II football. With revenue sharing coming it will be time to put up it shut up. Until then here’s to Clemson to win the ACC Championship game. GO TIGERS

‘Clemson Offense’
If he doesn’t hand the keys to the OC might as well keep Riley

It's ridiculous to see so many people who think they know so much. If the shoe fits......
You don't have to try to show how much you don't know. If it makes you feel better to THINK you know what's wrong, that's great, but recruits watch these boards as well, and well, we don't need a bunch of homers trying to give their opinion on what's "wrong". Again, if the shoe fits.......
Sure we need to fix some things... everyone does... but let Coach do his job and be a fan. The irony is when sometimes you think you know so much, you might have to say so little.
Just my $.02.

A vanilla offense and a porous defense is the reason we lost yesterday.

I think he could have been utilized so much better if we had better coaching and recruiting at his position and on defense in general.
