And make it 3 super conferences? Realistically, we are stuck in ACC until 2036. We could make it into a Western and Eastern division. Strength in numbers would increase revenue reevaluating by various networks. Possibly collaborating funds from these schools and start our own network and then share advertising revenue equally

Why don't we just convince the SEC and BIG to merge and then invite us in?
Doesn't that sound like a nice idea? While we're at it, since it's only a matter of time before both us, FSU, and probably UNC bolt maybe we should start our own conference, then add ND. If we did that it would be illegal to be left out of the CFP!

Yes it would. A merger like that would crush the GoR and force a new tv negotiation comparable to B1G and SEC

The other two conferences have been too heavy like the ACC. However, both added quality teams that enhance their value.
If we were combined into that third super conference then we would add a few more high value teams and not be top heavy

I understand that but if we are a stronger group we would not be held captive by a weak conference. Projections of 5-6 SEC teams and 3-4 Big10 would allow us to get 3-4 spots as a group instead of a guaranteed 2

Makes perfect sense. Strength in numbers. But again, it’s not what you know but who you know.

Should have been done 2 years ago with the ACC leading the charge. Now I would be ok with as long the commissioner was anyone not named Phillips.
I know he wasn't part of the the GOR, but he doesn't seem to have a vision either.

Certainly, a viable option. The fact is we can't get out of the ACC GOR, but we can change the ACC.

Combine with a conference that has no major brands and schools the like of UCF, Houston, etc? No thanks.
B1G: Michigan, OSU, USC, Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, Penn State
SEC: Alabama, UGA, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee, UF
Big12: Colorado, Utah, TCU, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia
One of these is not the like the others. Combining as mentioned would in effect create a new tier, not a third "power conference". Power 2, (insert this here), G5

Only if it cut loose the G5 schools that don’t belong. Sorry Bearcats, Deacons, Cougars, etc..

The ACC had the opportunity to take the best of the remaining Big 12 and Pac right after Texas/OK and USC left, but chose to sit around and do nothing. This was likely the only opportunity to create a 3rd "super" conference. There are way too many cupcakes in the ACC and Big12 now to join all of these schools into one conference.
