Blaming the coach for those actions is just plain dumb. That would be like blaming Chuck Daley for Barkley elbowing that Angolan during the 92 olympics.
Weah is a pro. He is a solid player and has been for quite some time and plays at one of the biggest clubs in the world. GB ain't shaping that kid during the random 3 weeks here and there they are together. Weah F'd up, plain and simple.
Let's unpack "parking the bus". We score in minute 22 playing with 10 and had already picked the ball out of the back of the net (offsides). I'd counter the point by saying GB was right to continue to try and play and go forward. We aren't set up from a personnel nor playing style to sit and defend for 70 minutes. It'd be like telling some finesse passing football team to just run the ball and rely on their defense. Can't do that for extended periods. Now if you want to be critical about him not packing it in around min 75 when we were visibly exhausted, I can go with that one.
I'm not a GB lover and not quite a hater. Time will tell with him although I'm a bit skeptical.
Regardless of circumstance, not getting out of the group while hosting this tournament is a F'ing train wreck. I can't see us getting past Uruguay but we shall see.
