Maybe the DE coach needs to move along too.

Yea not impressed with much on D period, but they have multiple folks so who knows where the real problem stems. At the end of the day it’s on Dabo and WG.

I pray that you are correct, sir! Hope you and your family are doing well in Chesterfield! How’s the golf course looking down your way. I really want to get back down there one day and play.

Stopping the run when your entire front 7 is made up of highly ranked players shouldn't be a nearly impossible task. The freaking Citadel ran for nearly 300 yards against our front 7 of 4 and 5 star recruits. If our defensive coordinator can't do anything about that then we need someone else.

Offense sputtered in the SC game but dang we win if we could get their QB down, and that’s with hands all over the guy. Still burns me up thinking about it! I may need to go see someone before next season!

According to analyst at 247 sports beginning of season Clemson was ranked #5 out of 133 Div I schools with the most number of 4 and 5 star players on the 85 man roster. It takes 2 to tango top of line players and top of line coaches!!!

Our defensive alignment was bad . Mainly line backers. That was why Evers changed the play call on two of Texas tds. 1 lb in the middle and 1 to the strong side leaving us with one on one blocking or out numbered blocking on the week side . Result two tds. Seller’s late td to win the Carolina game there was NO ONE in the middle of the field. Just an opinion from an old defensive ball coach!

Yes Sir. We couldn't solve the stretch zone all year. I was elated when we drew texas because I just knew if arky and vandy could stop texas run, we'd win. Especially knowing ewers was zero threat to run. Sure texas has an A+ line. Citadel, no. Louisville, mediocre. If we'd have had an inexperienced line, I'd say ok. But we had veterans that should be able to defend the stretch. But apparently them boys either couldn't learn or were taught wrong. Ither way, it's coaching that didn't put them in a situation to win.

I’m probably keeping Rumph and Eason. Just a hunch, and they may be part of it. 🤷♂️ Does not seem Wes ever talks with the whole defensive unit when I’m watching the home games and can see the bench. Maybe that is the norm now.

Is it for sure that Wes will be gone or is it speculation? I for one hope you are correct.

Look Dabo will not clean house and hiring within will be a good possibility, because any DC from the outside will want to bring in some of his own peeps and Dabo will limit that and he ain’t firing the same guys that did good under BV defenses.

Coordinators never get to choose the position coaches. Riley, Venables and Morris brought zero coaches with them

The DE coach is Chris Rumph and I don't think he can be blamed for the talent that we have at that position. My #1 dislike about Rhump is this, at the University of South Carolina, Rumph played on the defensive side at linebacker for South Carolina under head coaches Sparky Woods!!!

When Cade Denhoff is the answer to the best option to help set the edge, it’s not on Rumph. He didn’t have time to recruit when he came in, he used duct tape and bandaids to make it work the best he can.

As D coordinator , he is responsible for it all . One of his biggest shortcomings has been recruiting . Venables was excellent at it but Goodwin is not a coach that big time talent will come play for . Our talent on the defensive side has taken a big dip since he became D coordinator and player development also has been lacking .
