With Kirby getting a huge raise and extension: How long will he be at UGA?

I ask this in complete honesty. Those on here know I am a UGA fan, but I am BRUTALLY honest about Georgia and I also criticize them when I see an issue where failings occur.
I think Georgia and Clemson are going to be playing each other a lot in the near future so that is why I posted this.
He is 48 years old. His youngest son is 11.
The toll and pressure he must feel on a daily basis has to be enormous. Anything less than a national championship now and he gets criticized.
Kirby’s demeanor, drive, work ethic, etc., etc is legendary. But, a person cannot sustain that year after year without paying a price.
There are two camps here on what Kirby will do:
1) A few more years and he says ENOUGH and coasts the rest of his life (Or, would he want another challenge at another school?)
Or…
2) Kirby wants to build the greatest dynasty ever in college football and stays at UGA 25 years and surpasses Saban as the GOAT
I think it is somewhere in between. I see Kirby staying at UGA for at least 8-10 years. Don’t think he will win the national championship every season, but I do see at least 3 more. If he stays 20 or more then I think he passes Saban.
Again, just honestly curious what you guys think? Hope everyone has a great day. Hug your family members and tell them you love them - trust me on that 🙏
PS - Links O Tryon today. Goal is 75 or better

With the way college football is heading with NIL and now maybe revenue sharing, I don't know that any one school will dominate again. Too many schools will try to "buy" a player from other schools, and schools that recruit well are the main targets.
Maybe Kirby will win 1-2 more, maybe not. Teams hit that slippery slope downward and struggle to recover. Ohio State won the first ever CFP and hasn't won again since despite having great teams. It's hard to have sustained success at the college level, especially in todays game.

That makes good sense. Things are different now and teams can, literally, buy a championship.
Well said.

when he eats. This is not good and is typically a sign of an underlying health issue(s). I know that it can feel comforting to eat when you are stressed, and segs (a healthier way to release endorphins) may not be a viable option for him, but the quantity of unhealthy foods he eats will only make his health suffer more and make the healthier option mentioned above even harder to attain. I just hope he realizes this before it's too late. I wish him the best on his journey.

That is what I thought to the letter. Depends on the fan base. The $13 mil isn't half as important as the buy-out these days. Schools need to avoid the "Jimbo-effect". Let Kirby have a down year or a couple in a row and they'll forget all about SEC or National Championships and ask "What have you done lately?" and call for his head.

Two possibilities -- follow the Urban Meyer route and burn out in 5 to 10 years or follow the Bobby Bowden route and coach into his late 70s.

I do see Kirby staying at UGA for a very long time and I also see more National Championships as well.

Kirby is a great coach and he will be successful in whatever he does. There is no doubt if he stays at UGA, he will fill the trophy case with more Nattys.
I agree with the comments on the NIL changing the game to the point the great college coaches just go to the NFL so they don't have to worry about recruiting.
I can not imagine the toll on a person's body in that profession, but, guys like Saban, Kirby, and Dabo can not just take up the rocking chair. They are just as competitive, if not more competitive, than the players on their team.
You can't just turn that off... Saban surprised me a bit, but he immediately jumped into broadcasting b/c he knew he couldn't just retire and play golf everyday.
I wish we opened the season every year versus UGA.... Even though you guys have dominated the series, its too good of a game not to play. Campuses are 45 minutes apart and we recruit the same guys for the most part. Can't wait till 31 AUG. I know it will be a game. I hope we figure out our offense enough to have a chance to win at the end.
Go Tigers !!!!

Kirby will stay at Georgia for as long as he wants. He will continue to have success and win lots of games. Championships is another question. It just takes one generational player on an opposing team to ruin anyones dreams. Georgia is in some if not the best recruiting region. Most of the top players come from the south and as long as Kirby keeps putting players in the NFL and contend for national championships year after year, he will continue to recruit at a high level and bring in some of the best players. They can't get everyone but they will get most of who they want. Only way I see Kirby ever leaving is if he decides he wants a different challenge and jumps to the NFL(highly unlikely I think).

If we could predict the future, I would already be a lottery winner. I don’t think Kirby will surpass Saban but who knows. 5 years ago, predicting Dabo would surpass Saban and be the GOAT was a pretty popular opinion and there aren’t very many people out there who would say that today. That’s why I approach college football one game at a time.

First off - nobody cares.
Second - there has never been a more perfect marriage of a school and a coach so cut throat that they would foster the type of environment we see now at UGA. The perfect union of these two awful entities just so happens to be in place when college football itself has decided to implode in a heap of filth and greed the likes of which have never existed in NCAA history, so much so that the filth and greed of the NCAA pales in comparison and will cease to exist.
Enjoy your version of professional football - it holds no appeal or relevance to me.

Like all coaches at his level, his motivation is internal. He is driven to be the very best. As long as he has that drive and enjoys what he's doing, he'll be there. If he gets upset with whatever the "new college football" will be, then he will go to the NFL.
But, I suspect he'll be at UGA until he retires, whenever that is.

It pains me to say this but Georgia is the new Alabama in the SEC.
Kirby can write his own ticket unless he is lured away by the NFL.
Who knows ? It happened to Saban
