blame the defense.

The defense did not play well. I believe most of it was due to scheme and execution. Anyone who did not know ND would line up with two and even 3 tight ends and run behind them didn't pay attention to how they handled Syracuse. Anyone who did not know they would double team the d-line did not watch their game against Syracuse. Anyone who did not know they have a quarterback who shouldn't start for Aynor High School (no offense to the Blue Jackets) doesn't know how small, slow, or inept at throwing this guy really is. What we should have done was put all eleven guys in the box, stop the run, and dare him to beat us throwing. What we did was play defense like they had a Pat Mahomes at QB and allowed them to run it down our throats, with the afore mentioned three TE set most of the game.

There should be just as much criticism leveled at our defensive game plan as at our offensive game plan.

Yea it’s said that they didn’t allow a lot of points but they gutted us for 265 on the ground.

That’s one of the worst ways to lose. You know what’s coming and you cannot stop it.

Which may have actually been a good thing…if we had the ball more their defense could have scored 1 or 2 more TD’s…

Offense must do something to keep our defense off the field. They get tired when playing 3/4 of the game. Score was decent until 4th Qtr. Our offense never did much to keep the D off the field.
