wish we had an offense like South Carolina's

10

Oct 14, 2023, 6:36 PM

They get out there confident, with plays that they make work, with blocking and they dare you to stop them. We look like we haven't practiced, don't want to be out there, pointing fingers at our coaches and line, turning over the ball more than any other team, etc. etc.

They took a line that looked like the worst in the nation vs North Carolina and have made some adjustments or replacements and they look great. Our line has looked the same for five years.

Name a power five school we could score 38 points on.

OK, here is your answer: FL sucks. If you think what you're seeing means the coots have a "great" offense, you don't know football. Coot!

You may want to take your own advice and check the thread you're replying to - it was about Florida beating Tennessee. Something that absolutely happened.

First I would like to defend our tigers. I honestly believe we could be undefeated with 3 or 4 plays and will elaborate further if asked. Second I would like to defend your post as it's partially true for the most part. I would not trade either of our running backs for Carolina's. I agree it would be nice to have a RB that can actually outrun a defense but I'm ok with it because of what I'm about to mention. I would not disagree to having their passing game. Rattler has thrown for 350 more yards on 17 less tries and generally speaking less time to find a receiver. When he does find a receiver they actually FIGHT to catch the ball, something our receivers do not do other than Williams and brown. This is why I wouldn't trade our running backs. If we had the same passing attack mafah and Shipley could wreak havoc on teams since they couldn't just stack the box. Then I also look and see 4/5 TD's responsible for were by transfers. And 3/4 receiving TD'S were by transfers I can't help but believe we are not adapting to the times. While I understand not every transfer is created equal, they can give teams an influx of experience and skill when used properly. The teams that do it properly view it as an extension of recruiting. So while I can't say I wish we had Carolina's offense I can say yes to their passing attack. Just thought I'd go into further details with the frustrations I think you are feeling. BTW are passing game will increase this week if we incorporate Brown and Williams on the field at the same time. GO TIGERS!!!!

Re: Offensive rankings: Clemson #36 South Carolina #57

This chart only confirms the idea that it would be enjoyable to have a better passing attack. 62 more yards on 3 less attempts per game. The 188 yards per game rushing would increase with it. That's why I say not there offense but passing game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You would prefer the #57 offense

1

Oct 16, 2023, 10:10 PM

to the #36 offense?

Re: You would prefer the #57 offense

Oct 16, 2023, 10:16 PM

Did I say offense l. Read the post. It's about a better passing attack. Which not only would increase the offense in and of itself but open room for running the ball even more than we have. To the other post yes I would wish for better than south Carolina also. What I am saying is I understand the original poster in part. I see a passing attack in their offense that is actually better than ours. Is there total offense better, no. But since you are willing to post the chart I implore you to look at the PASSING stats only as that was what I was implying I see in their offense. Not PPG just passing stats.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, you didnt say offense

Re: wish we had an offense like South Carolina's

Oct 16, 2023, 10:10 PM

If I was going to wish for an offense, I could certainly wish for one much better than SC.

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

then go pull for South Carolina. how hard is that?

Oct 16, 2023, 10:19 PM

you have no specific right to undermine Clemson's program publicly by posing such an opinion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: then go pull for South Carolina. how hard is that?

Oct 16, 2023, 10:22 PM

It's not undermining to wish for better. We all strive for better. And as I said in the final part of my original post. That part of the game will increase this week with brown and Williams on the field.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

clearly you've never led anything substantial then

Oct 16, 2023, 10:24 PM

so you'd have no personal understanding of what "undermining" is. When you grow up, you'll know better.
