3* guys are usually ranked that way because they have lower ceilings or because they are long-term projects. Alot more 4* and certainly 5* players are going to pan out and they're also generally able to contribute much earlier - sometimes right from day 1. Sammy, DW4, Wilkins, Big Dex, Trevor, etc.

They do their rankings based on the 247 Composite. Amare Adams is a 5-star in their rankings, but not a composite 5-star.

A bit off topic but y'all put too much into the value RB talent, at the devalued position you can be fine with a 4.7 guy who is a willing blocker and knows the playbook...70% of a RB's success is reliant on his OL and his QB being a threat to throw the ball-

I've often joked that Renfrow was one of the best things that ever happened for Clemson football and but also one of the worst things to ever happen for Clemson fans. Because 50% of the fans now think that every scrappy, slow, white guy is a future All-American in waiting.

return does. If the ACC decides to go beyond 85 on scholarships (105 is a roster limit, not mandatory scholarships, SEC sticking at 85 for 2025) that still can't happen until July 1. So until additional transfers happen, or guys declare for the NFL, we are over 85.
Guys will transfer after the ACCCG and playoffs if we win, but until then, they're on scholarships. Not sure if any guys with remaining eligibility who are eligible for the draft will declare.
59 of our 85 on scholarship are freshmen or sophomores, and all but 8 total of the 85 are eligible to return if they choose to do so.
So why are we so surprised this was a small class when we've been told all year it would be?
By comparison, USuC loses 37 players this season whose eligibility is expired, not counting those who will transfer out. Their roster could be more than half new guys next season.
