of them and that team returns almost its entire offense and reloads on defense. I think the voters HAVE to vote us #1. I also believe that the preseason poll (however meaningless) should always rank the defending national champion #1.

It will be close on points and votes but we will start #1 then Bama will pass us during the season due to the schedule argument.

I think Clemson starts #1, but is passed after the first week.
Bama destroys an underrated Duke team by 52 and Clemson struggles with a rebuilding GT only winning by 49.

1. Michigan
2. Ohio State
3. Notre Dame
4. Alabama
5. Georgia
6. Clemson
They'll say its because our defense is suspect blah blah blah...

our coaching philosophy is to get a lot of players on the field during the course of the season. We will win by narrower (yet still very comfortable) margins. This will fool the talking heads yet again. Alabama will be winning by 50 every game due to their weak schedule (last year their first 8 games were won against teams that were defensively ranked lower than 80). Then comes the post season and we are hitting our stride.

SEC conference rules prohibit anyone but Bama being preseason #1.
In order to get 80% of the conference in the top 20 they must really cram a lot of SEC teams into all rankings.

It's downtime. We are the Kings of College Football. We have very few question marks before the season.
We have NEVER been ranked preseason #1 and have a very good chance of adding it to the lists of Dabo's accomplishments.
You act like its insignificant to be ranked #1 to start the season.

I think that we'd beat Alabama 8 outta 10 right now .
They'd scoff at that claim but when you look at the way they were handled in January you'd have a tough time convincing a non-biased observer that they could even manage a 50/50 split w/Clemson .
