Wiggins weighed in at 173 lbs at the combine. That's going to hurt him

He needed to be more at like 190 lbs based on his height. His arms are shorter than most expected too at just a little over 30". Nobody drafts a corner that light in the 1st round even if he runs the 40 in the 4.2s.

His arms seem to of sufficient size to cause goal line fumbles***

He should have come back another year.

Batson could have added 15 lbs and probably another 3" to this sleave length.

We all wanted him back, but he will go first round and get big bucks.

Wiggins is exceptionally ill-prepared in his approach to the combine ... and Batson's had 3+ years to put weight on him.

Maybe he is the type that loses weight after the season? He is only 20 years old and maybe putting on weight and keeping it on is tough for him. On that note, I wonder if 173 would be the lightest CB in the league?

Some dudes are metabolic machines and he probably runs on light unless it's football season.

There was some article posted years back that talked about how players would cycle between off-season (lighter playing weights) and football season (heavier playing weights).

So you are going to an interview where you make millions by weighing 185 lbs

And you choose to weigh 173 lbs and lose several million? Does not make sense. Cannot imagine a team wasting a 1st round pick on a young man who chooses to be 15 lbs underweight.

You have to look all the way back to the 2023 NFL draft to find a cornerback drafted in the first round that weighed less. And most of Wiggins' other measurables are better. He'll go top half of first round and might sneak in the top 10.

A friend of mine's daughter's husband played for the GreenBay Packers in the 70's and early 80's at around 270 Lbs. as an offensive lineman. He told me he spend his entire off season trying to keep weight on. So for some players keeping weight on is harder than getting it off.

I’m watching the combine and Nate Wiggins is expected to run the fastest 40 yd time. Maybe that’s why he is a little light. Ill prepared? I don’t agree.

4.28 seconds in 40 yd dash. Those numbers won’t hurt him. Running backs won’t speed by him.

Hope his tape speaks for itself because he’s definitely good enough to be drafted on day 1 in spite of the weight!

He plays solid at the point of attack. Nate has a DOG mentality. I would not worry about that.

Is that why the combine commentators are talking about him as the fastest cornerback and showing his highlights?

There are so many teams dying to have a guy who can keep the speedier WRs in the league in check. Easy first rounder.

Devonta Smith was much slower, lighter, arms about 1 inch longer…drafted RD1 #10 as a WR. Wiggins will add some weight but tackles above his weight class.
